I'd totally lost track of time for like ten whole minutes or something crazy (apparently doing photo restoration makes me detach from reality a little) and I was a bit alarmed when I showed up and I hadn't even missed any songs

One time my high school art teacher gave me the keys to the dark room and I went in there in the afternoon, but didn't come out until like 11 at night. Completely lost track of time and my family was looking for me.

chemical smells. red lighting, crowded space. Giant laboratory style focusing equipment with glass and brass fixtures. If people walk in at the wrong time the negatives or paper photos will disappear or turn dark. You've probably seen accidents with developing. dark sections with the rest viewable is typically a chemical bath problem. things like that.
