My equivalent of 120 minutes/MTV was watching the rather short-lived UK music video channel Music Box. Kraftwerk, Killing Joke, Heroes-era Bowie, The Jesus and Mary Chain... this was the stuff they played during the filler hours, but what a fine education for a sensitive 9-year old.

MTV started airing a show of drum & bass, EDM, and big beat called AMP in the bottom third of the 1990s. Two good CD comps out of that.

Same time and into the 00s, K-ROCK had a Saturday night/Sunday morning show called Solid State, same sort of music. Excellent late-night LAN party soundtrack.

Around that same time, there was a WFMU show that did that format plus trance and other synthed up stuff, also maybe Sat or Fri nights, called Lane Closure Ambrosia.

Good stretch of listening in all.
