It is so beyond anything my mind would ever be capable to do. In Nashville, my friends kids went to Covenant. Today... this.. person apparently was about to be fired, this was his way of getting back... at whom, at what? He was a white dude with a masters degree... Six blocks from my step kids school.

I can take a stab at what/whom he was trying to get back at, though I precisely zero about him. Capital. Smarmy know-it-all experts in thrall to capital who give not one shit for the lives of anybody, except to the extent they can promote their wealth and reputation.

I do not excuse these perpetrators, but I'm not so stupid as to imagine that they're off-the-charts psychotic, anymore than our fearless leaders are so. They realize that there is no cost to being a monster for a day.

  8:23pm

But unless you navigate a plane into the side of a high-rise office building or two, you stand no chance of pestering the lives of capital. Exploding with rage toward the innocent is second best for them.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm
KimSorise:

↳ Gina Bacon @8:26
I hope so, but I have to admit (and I really struggle with this aspect of the city) folks here are quick to turn an eye; they can be fickle and passive. This city / state needs bold and swift change - it wont happen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm
nnaavvaall:

I was walking through Time Square not so long ago... I try to avoid it but sometimes it's the best way to go. Anyway, I saw a sign that said something like "Gun Free Zone." I stopped dead in my tracks. I thought long and hard... this was a new sign that came about because of the change in legislation. But it was a bit more than that, too. Where do you put the "Gun Zone" in city?

  8:39pm
Dean:

SCOTUS puts the Gun Zone virtually anywhere, due in part to illiteracy. Consider the safer topic of copyright. Nobody dies! Nobody's "freedoms" are infringed. But our Court believes that "limited" (in the copyright clause of the Constitution) means "everything up to but not including unlimited, i.e., forever, infinity." How do we expect nincompoops of this ilk to read the Second Amendment in ways beyond a first grade level?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm
doctorjazz:

↳ Dean @8:39
What worries me is that, even if there was the will to do something rational about guns, the genie is out of the bottle. In the US, there are about 120 guns per person. Unless there was the will to get them all turned in, which is even more unlikely than any gun legislation, there's just too much firepower looking to be unleashed.

Frankly, @doctorjazz, that's ridiculous. The US military could eliminate these monumentally dumb pop-up "insurrections" like Jan. 6 in nanoseconds. Jan. 6 was Keystone Kops. That we entertained it for more than a month or two just amazes me.

But we all somehow crave drama, boogey-men, bad guys, and we let our government provide them for us.
