I have just seen the Wagner opera Parsifal (on DVD), and the characters there have a Grail, but it doesn't seem to help them one bit. (Lines such as "Oh, unimaginable woe!" tipped me off.) If they had had the grail on cassette, I think they would have been better off.

I do believe this record appeared in '78 at the store where I worked. The manager, a huge fan, would have pulled rank to claim it. But since the only EC I can stomach is his cover of "Peace, Love, and Understanding," I was not concerned.

My fave of the several times I saw EC in the 80s: 3-night run at the Warfield, SF in '86: One night regular show with the Attractions, One night with the Attractions doing "The Spinning Songbook" - set list determined by a game show spinning wheel, One night with the Confederates band (James Burton, Jerry Scheff, Jim Keltner) from the King of America album.

This sounds great! I don't think I've ever heard the guinbi so prominent on these early Jil Jilala recordings. But then they did re-record these songs a number of times over the years, so maybe I've never heard this one. Now I wonder whether it's Paco (before he split for Nass El Ghiwane) or Moulay Abdelaziz Tahiri (after splitting from Nass El Ghiwane).

I have a Kino cassette but it’s both a bootleg and “remastered”.. the kind of remastering à la Chlangden where they amp it up with new synth-bass and drum machine tracks.. works for some things but in my opinion not this instance
