Hey Peter! I've got a cheap plastic dubloon from a late '90s Mardi Gras parade with your name on it as a reward for your knowledge

Jason, I went to Jazz Fest, 2nd year in a row with 4-day passes. Had a blast! My sis lives in Metairie just 15 minutes from the grounds. Me and my friend from Houston stay with her. It's perfect. We drive over. I live in Austin

↳ Song: "Holy Cow" by "Kermit Ruffins"
For those who don't know - in addition to being New Orleans music royalty as a founding member of the Rebirth Brass Band and a great solo performer, Kermit Ruffins is also now the owner of the Mother In Law Lounge (established by Ernie K-Doe)

That's so cool to know. We finished out the fest these last two years at Tipitina's with Dumpstafunk. They put on a killer show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am
Jason Isaac:

↳ Candy-O'67 @10:40
Candy, I was at Jazzfest too - the second weekend, although I skipped the rainy day and sat in on a friend's gig on Frenchmen Street instead. But yeah, Jazzfest was AWESOME this year.
  10:45am
Andres:

Looked up the Mother In Law Lounge. Another reason to plan a visit to the city someday.

That's the weekend we did, too. We braved the rain! It was a trip! We made the best of it. Sounds like you had a good day on Frenchman. We tried to go down there one night, but it was a little too crazy for us. Tried to park a street away with lots. Right when I was about to pay from sitting in my car on the app, a lady knocked on my window. Her SUV was parked next to mine and she was warning us that someone had broken her car window, cops were on the way. We took that as our sign not to park there. We said forget it, had to drive down Frenchman, crazy crowded

I didn't know it was still open! Definitely on my list to go to next time I'm there!

↳ Song: "Whompt Out On You" by "Tony Joe White"
This is killer!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am
Jason Isaac:

↳ Candy-O'67 @10:48
Yeah, Frenchmen ain't what it used to be. I had a good time playing with my pal, but I didn't see a lot of smiling from the staff or the next band at the place I played. It was very different when I lived there in the '90s, a much more organic local scene with a ton of creative music happening every night. That was before the tourists were on to it ... There has been some interesting reading about the current scene on Offbeat's site in the last couple of weeks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am
Candy-O'67:

↳ Jason Isaac @10:52
I hear you. Even when I went like over 10 years ago when I lived in CA still, it was like you were saying. Now it's like Bourbon. I'll look for that read
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am

You have a really great show on your hands, Jason. Thanks for spinning!
