Re Oppenheimer film. Michel Chion wrote in Audio Vision about how Dolby cinemas make possible extreme noise and extreme silence and that few take advantages of the possibilities for silence. Observers at Los Alamos (and Hiroshima) saw the bombs flash before they heard the explosion or felt the shock wave. The movie portrays this lag between light and sound brilliantly, an all too rare (for hollywood films) moment of extended silence.

Nice! It's very quiet this morning, odd. Maybe the birdies went down the shore for the weekend.

They recently finished rebuilding the main trail (the boardwalk). The bugs aren't very welcoming, they like biting my head

It's very small. The trails aren't difficult, but if you walk the orange trail, there is a nice perch/dock to observe the pond. Quite relaxing. Most activity is early AM and sun down. I usually see around 7-10 deer, but no bears, yet.

Thanks. Last time we were there we were at East observation platform, 10 feet away from a perched hawk getting dive bombed by the other birds. Hawk would switch to different branches from time to time. All the birds and the hawk were โ€œscreamingโ€ at each other.
