There is a lot of slander going around in the media and elsewhere, that people who protest in favor of Palestinian rights are anti-semitic. It's still a lie. It's trying to change the attention away from Israel's brutal assault and apartheid.

That peculiar Israeli bias (or at least Likud party bias) precedes today's fiasco. Not infrequent to have seen any criticism of its annexation and occupation of adjacent land framed in that way. Any criticism of the ways people have been treated by the military, at checkpoints.Anything pro-Palestinian at all. It frustrates rational discussion...and increasingly seems like a smokescreen covering something else.

It's really hard to talk about all the nuances of this situation in comments, and I don't think we should on this beautiful morning (day here in Israel).I don't think the Israeli policies in the Western bank are right. Still, apartheid is certainly inapplicable to relations with other country, which is Palestine. Seeing that word used I kinda feel that maybe you don't see many nuances here. Although I agree that slandering of protesters as antisemitic is not wise

Well, we have thousands of armed men in Gaza, who just broke through the border and tortured 1400 of Israeli citizens. This is brutal assault. And we have several countries around, who support them. We are very grateful to America for sending those ships to help us. So, I kinda hope that you don't dp much effort of preventing America from doing this. Israeli army is unprecendentally cautious to civilians. It should be for two reasons - no-one wants to kill civilians, especially people like you and me who are the soldiers, also the world watches. It issues numerous warnings to civilians to leave the areas of military action. SMS, fliers. I does all it can - nothing that any army did. It's firsthand a war crime to hide behind civilians, like Hamas does for all these years. And Hamas should be destroyed. It's the war. It's natural to simpathyze with dying Palestinian civilians, but the thing is that no-one offers any other solution. It "just stop, we don't wanna see this". If Israel didn't have super-expensive anti-missile system, Israeli homes would be destroyed and people died throughout the year, because Hams just shoots these rockets, did before 7.10, conyinues much more frequently now - no-one caes anymore. Every Israeli has an app, which beeps when there's a rocket launched in his direction. It's not Israel fault being stronger and richer. It's attitudes still are way more humane thfn Hamas - which is elected governmenent in Gaza, btw

Israel's current actions and the currently estiimated 10,000 retaliatory deaths in Palestine throws a battleship full of gasoline on the fire. Likud has to know this, and therefore appears to be playing an endgame in which every last potential for Hamas to go on existing must be atomized. Completely annihilated. Everyone. And everything. Surely Likud knows this exacerbates the blood resentment of an already terrible invasion and annexation a thousand-fold. What do you suppose is its ultimate desire is? A 'holy' land? God's green acre? Built on skulls? This is resistance to an invasion. And it has become literally insane, driven to nauseating savagery it by its oppressors. Israel has created a Frankenstein. This isn't going to end well for anyone, and will probably never end now.

what is your solution? how should a country react to a murderous breach of it's border. also there is no annexation of Gaza. Gaza has been given back to Palestinians, after being captured in the war (like all countries territories in the world before that, and it;s never diputed). it has been given back, which i guess nobody has ever done. in exchange for promise of peace, which was not fulfilled. i'm sorry i really have to finish with this, i'm getting very upset, because this station has been like the safe spot for me online. gotta get stoned and try to do something practical. ...Nobody offers a solution. Everybody is rightfully condemning the death of civilians. But it's the war. Open war from the side of Hamas. What can a country do in the war against it? Can you imagine any other country having to deal with what Israel has to? It hasn't been handled the best way by Israel. But where is the cry "Egypt, accept Palestinian refugees" etc? Israel has to show extreme mercy to the people, who didnot accept giving part of the land to Jews on the first place, and lost in the war that came after that - I guess you know the history of how it started
