wow - this sounds like... madder rose!

I believe this derives only from the extended version via CDs or online. Dont recall it on the vinyl.

I believe it’s “a swift one” by Martin Chambers - {the longstanding drummer & co(?)-Founder of the Pretenders}.
  1:34am

I don’t believe I ever found a cd copy of that 1st gorgeous PCO album. Perhaps my favorite! (Yet the 1981 follow-up album was stellar as well).

My friend and i did a mouth version of 2112 one time on a road trip between Big Spring and Midland Texas. I think it was like 1978.
Wow. Now I’m depressed.
  1:42am
Erik Overt:

Don Stroud : please don’t be down abt that = it’s a 2112 miracle memory ! - a life’s achievement.

U r right. Thank you. I did love it

Now, if it had been “HEMISPHERES” I would suggest yall receive a prize 🏆 of sum sort.

terrapin_333:

The Weezer bit would have been more effective if it were like 6 seconds long. Sometimes being annoying for 20 mintues doesn't confer automatic artistic credibility.

Hahha!! Good point! My question is
Who thought to record this
And are there any djs left
Who are brave enough
To play the whole thing?

The bravery is entirely on the part of the listeners.
  1:52am
Erik Overt:

Does that suggest, yall don’t participate in all things Dan Bodah & “vocal fry” (or Bart Plantenga from yesteryear ?)
  2:04am
Erik Overt:

Well … re vocal covers: granted it’s way more polished & professionally conceived : yet I have been utterly mesmerized by PETRA HADEN (Charlie’s daughter!). Her King Crimson cover versions are a thingy of beauty.
& her take on the Who “sell out” album is a delight.
Be sure to dip into her accompanying videos (after listening to the audio). Note: My total fave of hers is “Petra Goes to the Movies” - her cover soundtrack choices are stunningly ambitious and unique!!!!
(Great still visuals accompany ta boot 👢).

That’s a great recc. I’m in Cali and thusly know of the Hayden family and their exploits. I will look into that one.

I’m thinking that funk or electrodrama silliness like Yaz would be fun as mouth music.

  2:17am
Erik Overt:

Mr Stroud: thank you for the Tanya Haden arts 🎭
- I am unaware of that particular Haden. Didn’t Charlie have 3 daughters (were they triplets?). I always loved their indy pop band “THAT DOG” (¿1992-1997? +++).
  2:28am
Erik Overt:

re Vocals: Todd Rundgren also has an ALL vocal album that was kinda unique back in the overproduced days of the mid 80s / appropriately titled = “A Cappella” (1985)
I was a dunce, when I unloaded a bunch of my vinyl collection, Bach in the Deus.
  2:30am
Donnie Stroud:

Tanya is a cellist and an artist. An odd bird.
  2:31am
Donnie Stroud:

There were triplets
I think Tanya was after
  2:33am
Donnie Stroud:

She works often with , or adjacent to Marnie Weber. A genius. Marnie is an artist who moonlights as a musician.
  2:38am
Erik Overt:

👉 Don S: I knew I had heard your name before; is this your lineage?😉 = wiki says: Donald Lee Stroud (born September 1, 1943) is an American actor, musician, and surfer. Stroud has appeared in over 100 films and 200 television shows.
  2:41am
Erik Overt:

Wow, Charlie Haden & partner passed down some genius artistic genetics 🧬. Creative Family.

Now I’m kinda infatuated with Marnie Weber !
Gee thanks again !
Ps: also always appreciated Kurt Weill (& Schwitters).
