the gypsy moth caterpillars worked their way through here in the early aughts and moved on. still some bare trees poking out from the canopy this spring. we DO have lots of happy chipmunks and bunnies.

I was at a customer's house in Gardiner earlier, up on the ridge near Mohonk. When I ordered his part last week it looked like summer. I went back today and it looked like winter--all the trees bare, and undulating carpets of caterpillars on the side of his barn

Frederick is an impressively Big Cat. I hope whoever is adopting him has lots of space.

It's especially good news that several of the adult cats are getting adopted. I presume it's easier to find homes for kittens than for the grown cats (though what do I know).

That's been my experience, as a former animal shelter volunteer & cat foster. Many people want a cute kitten or puppy, & older animals get overlooked (if they're only a couple of years old).
