hey i never noticed that. do you know the origin of/reason for the title,"columbia"?

(or "district of columbia", for that matter.
...not that "colombia university" wouldn't also warrant an explanation...)

Elmhurst may have the best Thai food in the country. There’s a killer Thai steam-table place called Khao Kang. I don’t know the Colombian stuff too well though. Some friends took me for huge Colombian tamales in Jackson Hts. recently. They were pretty good but I was not blown away.
Avatar 8:38pm
Ike:

Then they took me to 969 Coffee which has amazing onigirazu (sushi-style sandwiches). I definitely did NOT expect to find that in Jackson Hts.

columbia is the anglicization of colombia (as or pertaining to something honoring whom we know as columbus)

I'm gonna leave the job site for lunch and never come back. If anyone needs me I'll be at the steam table.

That’s a particularly good choice if your time is limited. Point to your 3 amazing things over rice, pay, eat them, go. It’s pricier than Chinese steam-table-style places, but worth it.

Chris in Kensington Bklyn:

Cool! I also know there's SriPraPhai up by there, there's also another joint that the foodies are all about, maybe it's your steam table place rec.
