I saw it at a drive-in as a kid, and the music is haunting and eerie. I've tried to collect everything I can related to this movie, and I still think the robot designs in this film are excellent.

	👻 11:42am Austin Rich: My parents went to a fair number of Drive-In movies when I was very young, as they were everywhere, and that way they didn't have to pay movie theater prices for snacks. While I can't remember everything that I saw, two movies in particular stood out that I have become very obsessed with over the years: Raiders of The Lost Ark The Black Hole. I think about moments from both of these movies at least once a week.

While it's not well established in either the film or in this version of the story, Kate has a form of ESP, where she can sense things, and in particular, speak with robots, telepathically. When it happens, it's sort of surreal, in that late 70's sort of way.
	👻 11:53am Austin Rich: I have to imagine that the sessions for recording Slim Pickens, as the voice of the B.O.B. robot, must have been wild. I'm sure he must have thought most of what he was saying was nonsense.

But something was missing, and I didn't really bond with the new stuff. There's something chaotic, and weird about the first movie, that seems incomplete, and leaves a lot of backstory for you to guess at. The sequels seem to want to fill in all the gaps that just feels... off.
