Looking at the (sparse) BAM schedule: Ohad Naharins's piece is OK, not on par with earlier stuff, but maybe it holds up better now because part of what irked me was how he was doing what many did at the time

Memoir post warning. I was mail ordering from Shimmy back then, because Bongwater was my last favorite rock band in that teenage favorite rock band way, if you get the drift of that concept (I was 10 years or so past being a teenager by that point). One CD came wrapped in that tubular plastic padding, wrapped in parallel rows closely one way, then cross-hatched the other way, layer after layer, making a wrap several inches thick. It took me a good ten minutes to unwrap! I could only imagine a very bored intern spending half an afternoon on it to kill time. And I am remembering that I actually noted the Shimmy-Disc -- ESP comparison to Kramer in a note with an order. He replied, himself, with "You're crazy!"

I saw Kyle Abraham once, interesting stuff, but left me wanting more (which might be a good thing)
Best show I saw this week was Maud Blandel (unlikely to show up in NY, but with Swiss money, she might). Ioannis Mandafounis was really good too
But last week, it was Voice Noise by Jan Martens. Great dance in different ways, and the soundtrack could be a WFMU show

catch Christos Papadopoulos if you can, different each time but with a physical yet abstract vibe
Each of the Belaza sisters (Dalila and Nacera), often slow going, but amazing patterns unfold
Radouan Mriziga: De Keersmaeker collaborator, his own stuff hold up very well, plays with how music/sound changes perception (probably banned from the US soon though)
