The cinematic 'Mod' Britain of the '60s probably owes a bit to the Festival's setting of postwar trends.

The “treasures” were mounds of stuff from homes of evicted tenants. All kinds of things: prescription medication, wedding albums, piles of clothes, and tons of cassettes and VHS tapes — weird home movies and Jamaican dance parties. Pre YouTube this was all exotic stuff. My buddy Jeff & I would use these for our Public Access show. Vivian would sell me these in bulk for a great price. I’d buy bags of tapes. “Dr Kurtz’s Program” came from an unlabeled cassette. That’s the entire thing, start to finish. I put this over a Grateful Dead loop. It's disruptive but meditative.
