Listener comments!

  2:55pm Patrick:

I'm grateful to your devotion to Mr. Gott. If only I could find this track in Czech record stores among the heaps of other dreck he is responsible for!
  3:24pm Kurt:

thanks for doing the 60-second songs, and thanks for putting them up on the blog. i want to hear the entire residents commercial album smashed into a 60 second track!
  3:35pm Ken:

Hi Patrick - I downloaded a mess of Karel Gott tracks, including "Rot und Schwarz" from the "Germans Under Cover" blog here:

http://germans-under-cover.blogspot.com/

And Kurt - Funny you should ask for the Residents commercial album in one minute, it's on my blog post here:

  6:00pm Kurt:

aw, man, double brilliant. it's hard to get much work done when you're starting a new song every 60 seconds (i'll download them when i get home). but i listened through. i was noting which ones were my favorites but predictably enough it's just the ones of the bands i like. neverthless, big eff-yeahs to versions of the beatles, queen, 'sex machine,' '1-60,' prince, 'anarchy generation,' 'sitting in a room,' the who, 'oh yoko,' velvet underground, and 'ring of fire'! eff yeah!
  9:10pm Ken:

I wish I hadn't made the deadline for the sixty second song contest so far away - I'm dying to do a full show of nothing but one minute songs. I have well over three hours worth already. But it will be tough to come up with three good hours of them... and I'll have to keep all my mic breaks to less than a minute also.
  11:46pm Lance:

Thanks for playing Jimmy Riddle. It sent me on an hour-long web expedition into Hee Haw which reminded me of how powerfully it shaped my childhood view of the rural South as a land of the fun-loving, horny and work-shy. It may have also permanently skewed my conceptions of female desirability. Why else would front porches and cornbread be sexy to a Chicagoan? I found this short walk-through by Jimmy Riddle & Jackie Phelps on another clip.

It was a pleasant surprise to see that Hee Haw was actually a rather funny show with a lot of good music. Thanks again for taking me there.
  10:57am Ken:

Lance - Thanks for that Hee-Haw clip! Why is every online clip of Jimmy Riddle like three seconds long?!

Man, Hee-Haw was edited exactly like Laugh-In...

  1:50pm Chris:

The remixed Puffy track is "Kore ga Watashi no Ikirumichi" (That's The Way I Live) which comes from Jet-CD.
  6:48pm Gonzo:

My life is meaninless until you post a new program. Just joshing, I'm playing your show to the customers at my store PolyEster Books www.polyester.com.au and they marvel how you can find such priceless chesnuts to play.
Please keep it up.

  3:59pm fatty jubbo:

yikes! What is that bologney lady? I NEED that. I laughed for long time.
  5:13pm Ken:

Thanks, Fatty! The Bologna Lady was a caller on an old Phil Hendrie radio show that crept onto my iPod. I had to have her!

  5:15pm Ken:

Thanks Chris, I will update the playlist with the name of that Puffy track. That's what these comments sections are for!
