  9:02am Doug:

  9:06am Cubicle Carl:

This Rapped Youth piece is kinda good. Primitive, a little dub poetry like, I give it a 9.
  9:06am Listener Dave:

IOU. Sorry, OCD kicked in.
  9:06am Ken:

Yep, that Rapped Youth thing is like Incorrect Finnish Hip Hop.
  9:10am jackie burkhardt:

  9:13am JJZ:

I like this introduction to drums.
  9:21am Ken:

Hello all... Negator, what was the name of that German comp I was playing last week? I knew I was missing something this morning...
  9:24am Negator:

Shitkatapult Strike 88cd ?
  9:25am Negator:

Das Mandolineorchester?
  9:26am jonathan:

zatumba!!!!!
  9:28am Listener Dave:

All hail Zatumba.
  9:28am Doug:

I honestly couldn't tell if that hip hop was correct or incorrect. It sort of reminded me of TTC, which is definitely correct.
  9:30am Negator:

Deichkind Prost (feat. Das Bo) Shitkatapult Strike 88cd
  9:30am JJZ:

That's a lot of coffee.
  9:31am Thom:

Oh no, not the COFFEE!!!!
  9:31am Listener David:

NOOOOO....anything but Chocolate!!
  9:31am jonathan:

just please don't say you have to give up beer!
  9:31am Mouth From the South:

COFFEE is good. Believe me. Almost necessary. No, make that necessary !
  9:32am Negator:

Chai Tea! Man. Really packs a caffiene punch. Drink cold with ice and cream. Chocolate! Shoot yourself. But try the Chai Tea. FUCK SEX!
  9:32am Sueb:

holy crap KEN 6-8 cups?
I am thinking about having another cup (# 2) and am afraid i will make myself have an anxiety attack or produce too many artistic endeavors when i am supposed to be WORKING.
  9:33am Listener Dave:

Sounds like a diet of bunny rabbits, Satan, cheese and milk.

Giving up coffee is much worse than giving up sex.
  9:33am Charles:

That sounds like some nasty reflux, Ken!
  9:36am Negator:

That's alright Ken. I gotta give up Xanex, cigarettes, weed, alcohol, Clonipin, excessive masturbation, porn, TV, sugar, hairdryers, prostitutes, racism, bigotry, and xenophobia. Oh coleecting records!
  9:37am Doug:

How 'bout that Michigan primary!?
  9:37am daniel spaniel:

I had the same problem with bile evacuating through various orifices and changed to a diet of strictly white foods. (milk, egg whites, white bread (crust removed), etc.). I feel very good now but have to avoid sunlight at all costs.
  9:39am Mouth From the South:

Every human being should have at least 10 bad habits, if they can be called bad. 5 for domesticated animals.
  9:40am Reed:

How about giving up Alan Vega?
  9:40am Negator:

My eyes are all white like those things in Omegaman.
  9:44am Ken:

Thanks Reed! We should indeed all give it up for Alan Vega. I will be playing A LOT more today and in future weeks.
  9:47am that 70s chick:

ken- heres some advice play more comedy like CHEECH & CHONG,,MONTY PYTHON & NATIONAL LAMPOON thanks ken i would really appreciate it,,see you next week
  9:49am Ken:

Thank you 70;s Chick. You have now exceeded your weekly posting allotment. Speak to you next week.
  9:51am JJZ:

Have we ever actually heard Mickey and Bunny? I'm not sure I need to, and it may be better that I haven't, but I wonder.
  9:51am Negator:

Jean-Jacques Perrey & Luke Vibert ! I am diggin' this!
  9:58am Negator:

I smoke the pope's toenails when I want to get HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH!
  10:02am John from Oslo:

I wonder if I can be a mormon, it sounds like great fun!
  10:03am Negator:

If I could have 6 or 12 hot wives I'd sing in this group every week! Hot Wives is the operative. Most of the time the wives are butt-ass ugly. All the styx on the ugly tree, you know!
  10:03am TRISTRAM:

Thats just scary!
  10:04am vivian:

Thank you for Ross Johnson! By the way Ken, I'm fasting this weekend which means NO coffee, alcohol, sugar...basically any food what so ever. I'll feel your pain.
  10:08am Reed:

This great record only has more relevance in today's troubled geopolitical climate.
  10:09am John from Oslo:

I copied "that 70s chick" comment and converted it into a music request.

(ken- heres some advice play more rock like STYX, TOTO & BOSTON thanks ken i would really appreciate it,,see you next week.)
  10:09am Listener Dave from NH:

To make up for others' fasting, I'll be brewing up more espresso this weekend.
  10:11am north guinea hills:

Mmmmmm...! John, I would actually like some Toto....
  10:11am Listener Dave:

Just a thought: If you started chewing gum on the air, would that make up for not being able to drink coffee?
  10:12am Ken:

Careful what you wish for everybody!
  10:12am JJZ:

It relieves stress.
  10:15am Listener Dave:

Zatumba Claus?
  10:17am Listener Dave:

OK, but seriously folks...is anything else on that Ross Johnson record as good as what Ken just played?

Also, can anyone tell me anything fun to do in Stockholm (hello Sweden!)
  10:18am John from Oslo:

DEUS EX MACHINA
  10:19am SueB:

S THINGS 2 DO IN SWEDEN stand in close proximity to a tourist attraction pretend you are a local. send hapless americans in the wrong direction
  10:21am Sueb:

this metallica song is making me have a living nightmare. thank you for the interjections of high-tension man. it snaps me out of the frightening illusion that i am listening to any old station.
  10:21am Marcus:

http://216.103.111.115/webthumper/drums/transcripts/enter_sandman3.png
  10:23am Bryant:

Oops ... looks like someone's going to get a call from the station manager.
  10:24am Mouth From the South:

I may be going to Stockholm in about 2 weeks, and so any insightful hints as to what one could do over there would be great.
  10:24am Sue, the:

i'll be back when this set is over.
  10:25am pheezy:

When will we get our first metal singer President???
  10:26am nEGATOR:

This set kick's ass!
  10:26am Listener Dave:

Where is Raad Man? He would love this.
  10:27am Matt:

Oh man, I wish I tuned in earlier!
  10:27am bb:

man...is this the first and last time something produced by bob rock will appear on this show?

ken, you are proving my fears about this rock band phenomenon
  10:28am Reed:

Are these wicked jams on Rock Band too? They're also on GH3.
  10:29am Dickdong (UK):

Mouth From the South, my daughter's just started work in Stockholm. You need to try and keep warm. She went to a party last Friday, they drank .... wait for it .... soup.
  10:29am Okasa:

I second the ass-kickitudeness of this set. You are the man, Ken!
  10:29am Ken:

I agree with you - we have reason to fear the Ropckband phenomenon. Now let's start up a WFMU Rockband Team.
  10:34am pheezy:

Can we learn Zatumba's music on this "Rockband"?
  10:35am Reed:

OK, this is excellent use of Alan Vega.
Chastened!
  10:35am Listener Dave:

I have this hope that somewhere, some K-Rock listener tuned in at the top of this set and is now either being horrified or converted.
  10:35am bb:

do they have neu! or selections from jesus christ superstar or the fall on rockband? the wfmu team might be at a bit of a disadvantage otherwise
  10:37am -max-:

Ken,
Another great show unfolding here.
Thank you for every moment!
  10:37am John from Oslo:

"Bad News - Bohemian Rhapsody (Take 2)" would really top this set ; )
  10:38am dave from baltimore:

new from the creators of rockband: experimental gamelan noise-band
  10:39am north guinea hills:

i'm still waiting for sousaphone hero to become a reality
  10:40am Amir K.:

Hey Ken... You ruined Mississippi Queen by "mashing it up" with someone yelling over the track and it pisses me off that you are "fucking it up" for no good reason. Thanks for destroying a classic douche bag.
  10:40am bb:

i have images of bored suburban teens rockbanding along to throbbing gristle and sun city girls dancing through my haead...

rock band: special sst records edition might be plain awesome
  10:40am Steev:

Caaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnn you dig it!
  10:41am north guinea hills:

never heard lary seven recorded before
  10:41am Negator:

Off subject, but, does anyone here like The Sweet? Ken, got any The Sweet. Wig Wam Bam?
  10:42am jonathan:

MASH!! KEN!
  10:43am bb:

i have dug the sweet before...

and mountain...mountain had some moments
  10:43am Negator:

Waste of a perfectly fine "classic douche bag" if you ask me.
  10:43am Listener Dave:

Best set ever. This last Mississippi Queen remix should be on your next premium, Fucking incredible.
  10:45am marty:

Hey Amir... Go buy some ear plugs!!!
  10:45am Alan Vega:

hey what's goin' on? My wife just woke me up to say I am on the radio. What is this? Is this the session I did with Scott? What the f.....
  10:48am Cubicle Carl:

Big Sweet fan here. I spent many a day back in the 1970's in search of Sweet vinyl. Much of their output never was released domestically.
  10:48am jonathan:

this is the best thing ever!
  10:48am John from Oslo:

Waaariooors... Come out and plaaaayyyy...
  10:49am Steev:

  10:49am nEGATOR:

My brains are melting.....
  10:49am Steev:

oops -- meant Sweet not Sweat!
  10:50am Bad Ronald:

Love Is Like Oxygen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRVwcPTnug8
  10:52am Mouth From the South:

Did Obama swing by WFMU last week after all ?
  10:54am Negator:

Watched all Sweet Youtube weeks ago. SWEET!
  10:56am Steev:

Alone Again Or -- coverd by the Damned & Calexico. best Sweet song ever!
  10:57am dc pat:

Love 2 or 3 songs coming in together over the radio...what's that other tune slipping in there? I can almost pick it out...
  10:57am Listener Dave from NH:

I get a kick out of "Love is Like Oxygen" ever since El-P sampled it for the Cannibal Ox EP.
  10:57am Bad Ronald:

I dig Fox on the Run
  10:58am ken in denver:

My dog threw up toward the end of that Mississippi Queen marathon. I'm just sayin'.
  10:59am John from Oslo:

I agree SWEET was a great band! Rezillos did a great cover of Ballromm Blitz, btw.
Great show ken. Great to be listening to this great show, oozing of great greatness!
  10:59am -max-:

Rammstein!!
  11:01am Todd 76%:

I'm pretty sure the "Alone Again Or" Steev is referring to is an Arthur Lee tune originally performed by Love. Btw, "Set Me Free" by Sweet is one of my favorite 70's proto-metal rockers ever!
  11:03am Cubicle Carl:

"Set Me Free" is an awesome track.
  11:06am Steev:

thanx Todd -- I get Love-Sweet-Bread all mixed up sometimes. Tastes good though.
  11:07am dc pat:

you mean train kept a'rollin by Johnny Burnette.. WAY better version than Aerosmith OR yardbirds.
  11:07am Nate:

zat Neu in the background? I think it is!
  11:07am bb:

sounds like harry might need a blood on the wall album, ken

http://assistantbrighton.blogspot.com/2005/10/blood-on-wall-awesomer.html
  11:08am John from Oslo:

"Set me free" by Sweet has EVERYTHING, great drumrolls and breaks, ballbreaking high chorus and buildup, a true gem from the 70s!
  11:08am dc pat:

love "the Awesomers"
  11:17am Steev:

I heared John Lydon in the background...of that Liquid Liquid track.
  11:17am Sean Padilla:

When I turn WFMU on @ work and the first thing I hear is Liquid Liquid, I know that the rest of the day won't suck.
  11:18am Ken:

Yeah, I heard something else in the bg of the Jamie Lidell, and I had to hit the dump button.
  11:19am Doug:

"Thanks for destroying a classic douche bag"?

I didn't know there was such a thing!
  11:21am Ken:

Sorry I fell behind on comments, it got kind of busy in here. but that is how it should be, no?
  11:31am Ken:

David Peel! That's who Johnny Moped reminds me of..
  11:33am Mark:

The Pope smokes dope!
  11:36am Carmichael:

I was gonna say he reminds me of Ian Dury, but now he sounds like Motorhead ...
  11:40am Sean Padilla:

I love this I, Ludicrous song!
  11:47am Sean Daily:

Hey hey hey hey hey! The Last Band wasn't the last band! What kinda lousy scam is dis?
  11:50am Seev:

Wrong war @the wrong time @the wrong place!
~Dubya
  11:57am Greg the G:

TV Eye without Iggy is still very wiggy and makes one want to shake in all the wrong places...in public anyway. Great set Ken, the original Great Lake Warrior!
  11:57am Listener Dave:

Great show. Best show since the awesome Christmas show. Thanks Ken!
  12:00pm Doug:

Whoa, slowed-down tAtU is flipping amazing.
  12:00pm Doug:

Whoa, slowed-down tAtU is flipping amazing.
  12:05pm Carmichael:

My WFMU setlist/comment format completely changed, and some glee club is singing Chicago.

I think I got dosed.
  5:23pm keira:

So sad about the chocolate, coffee etc But maybe a little naturally fermented sauerkraut or naturally brined pickles in your diet would help bring it all back? It's full of all those probiotics and yummy too. Check out the wonders of wild fermentation (includes booze!) http://www.wildfermentation.com/ Betcha DJ Trouble knows about this stuff.
  7:15pm Jeff M:

Listening days later (the archives rule!) your multilayered Mississippi Queen just ended, and has left me weak. Was the base piece of that some special wacky Fabio project? Maybe you'll talk about it later whan you get back on mic... Clearly, though, if Leslie West truly wants to succeed, the next time he goes on tour he'll take ZATUMBA!
  5:38pm Trent:

LSD Hero
  6:12pm SamWais:

Rapped Youth rocks! I like the extreme nasal sound so very much.

...and there's live Rapped Youth material available at youtube now:
