The hip-hop documentary "White Lines And The Fever: The Death Of DJ Junebug," which premiered at SXSW and will be screened again during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York this month, is the story of the Bronx old school hip-hop mecca Disco Fever and one of its central musical figures - the late great hip-hop pioneer DJ Junebug. The documentary, which includes interviews with such legendary old school hip-hop artists as DJ Hollywood, Disco Bee, Sweet G, and Kurtis Blow, tells the story with a tragic ending of the super talented DJ Junebug's double-life as a turntablist and drug dealer. Directed by Travis Senger the film was inspired by the 2004 Wax Poetics article "When The Fever Was The Mecca," penned by Mark Skillz who co-wrote the film. Skillz and Senger, in town for the Tribeca Film Festival, along with Disco Bee and Sweet G will stop by WFMU to join Billy Jam.
