  3:08pm
Parq:

Was anyone else in Boston in the winter of 78-79? And listening to BCN? If so, you probably also remember this Herbie Mann tune well.
  3:09pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

ngh, because he's funky, probably.
  3:10pm
Looms:

Hey Irwin! You forgot to put the picture of the week online!
  3:12pm

I saw D. Byrne play last year in Northampton, MA. He played a full set of music produced by Brian Eno, including many Talking Heads songs. It was unbelievable!
  3:38pm
Looms:

Oh V K, i was far too young when the TH worked together to see them live. One of my biggest musical regrets, but great dvds are available, especially Live In Rome and Stop Making Sense.
  3:40pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

  3:41pm
Savory c:

Talking Heads 1984 outddor summer show at the old forest hills tennis stadium queens NY.

v k:

seen 'stop making sense' but assumed it wasn't representative given that it was a 'movie concert' type thing shot over 3 nights; will def seek out 'live in rome'; thanks for tip
  3:44pm
Parq:

Saw Heads when they were touring to support Remain in Light, approx summer 1979, for what turned out to be the last performance of the quartet. A year later, they introduced their large Afro-influenced combo, and I really wasn't sure what to make of it. Really was something to see, though.
  3:44pm
Looms:

You can find many excerpts from Live In Rome on YouTube.
  3:45pm
Looms:

  3:57pm

  4:06pm
Laura L:

  4:09pm
Laura L:

  4:17pm
Franklin Gothic:

Helvie, put yer clothes on!
  4:18pm
Dave B:

@Elvis - the python behind the tune is what's kinda neat.

Q: "The Swinger is a bit of python code that takes any song and makes it swing. It does this be taking each beat and time-stretching the first half of each beat while time-shrinking the second half."
  4:21pm
Dave B:
