today is my birthday. good to be able to listen to Irwin live and not from archives. thanks, irwin. good show. family coming by later. have pigs heads roasting. tomorrow is veterans day and I always have a hard time that day because I am a veteran and experienced some bad things. but I have wfmu.

Thank God! I missed Amanda!!
  4:53pm
marq:

not to be mistaken. I am an "old" veteran from 20 years ago. not from the recent crap. hard to believe the gulf war was 20 years ago. I will enjoy the pigs heads. they came from a local farmer. roasting two of them and making head cheese with the other two.
  4:55pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

oh man, marq, that sounds so gross!
  4:55pm
John McCabe in LA:

I love Irwin and the music he plays but his jingoistic rant I don't go for. I care about the vets it's just too bad at have nothing but asshole presidents send them to die for thins that have nothing to do with our freedom. we spend a lot of money on the front end fighting the war then we forget about the vet and have them seek charity to meet there need it just show how hypocritical the whole thing is. spend tomorrow watching "Born on the 4th of July"
  4:58pm
tom cruise:

and don't forget to pay for it!
  5:00pm
I heard a rumor:

Is it true that Corwood's Pupil is an actual bastard son of The Representative?
  5:02pm
Lizardner Dave:

Marq made me hungry for some jowls. Or snout - yes, I have eaten pig snout. At Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Imagine if you will something with the texture of calimari and the flavor of bacon. It is that good.
  5:02pm
politics here?:

really?
  5:06pm
JT:

jesus did you have to play this song right now. it makes me cry because i know what it's about
  5:07pm
marq:

the pig heads were skinned already so there is no snout and ears. Just all of the meat and the eyeballs. and yes. I am from a working class family and joined the army at aged 17 to pay for college. it paid for my college and now i have a masters degree. until we as a society help the working class and poor the miltary will keep feeding on it.
  5:08pm

  5:31pm
marq:

Listener John:

This Amanda IS putting us on, isn't she?

I don't sense a truly bizarre person behind the songs I've heard from this record; it seems to me that in her songs she is putting on a performance of being a truly unbalanced person.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong . . .
  5:42pm
marq:

parents probably won't be here before the end of the show. wife and kid allowing me to listen to the show in my studio lair until parents arrive.
  5:43pm

I can still flick my pecks with the muscles from when I was a young soldier. even though I am older and covered with an thin layer of fat over them.
