  10:03am glenn:

hey doug in canada - where are you? i'm in toronto.
  10:03am Doug in Canada:

Sexy sexy woman ... I mostly remember her from Straw Dogs ... she did some other stuff (she was in Dirty Mary Crazy Larry!) Back when late night TV actually showed movies one would see these things ...
  10:04am Billy Jam:

loving the show Ken - including that Hot Butter Popcorn cover - and I totally agree with on the Cee-Lo Green song. What up Bad Ronald, DC Pat, Dave, Vicki and other Ken/WFMU listeners
  10:04am Doug in Canada:

  10:10am Cecile:

Hi, Billy!

What's wrong with the Cee-Lo song? It's funny. Not the best Cee-lo, but hey, if it gets him more attention...
  10:11am Ken:

It's a great song, and we can't play it!
  10:12am Doug in Canada:

Wow, the sound I hear every morning ... hi girls!
  10:13am Dan B From Upstate:

I see Liz B played the FCC friendly version on Monday. I think after today's show, I'm gonna' go listen to it to see how awful it is compared to the exceptional original.

I'm trying to forget I Dream of Jeannie ...
  10:21am Vicki:

I was the first person to play The Doopees on WFMU, but it was Felix Kubin that gave me a copy of the album
  10:25am Vicki:

You can download the Doopees album here, folks.
http://mutant-sounds.blogspot.com/2010/02/yann-tomita-doopees-doopee.html
  10:26am dc pat:

I like this Monotonous one, hilarious!!
  10:26am jan:

I remember hearing Air by Bus- the Doopee song on Ken's show and spending a day or two trying to find the CD in 2004 when I was in Tokyo.
Now you tell me I can download it. What about the Astro Age Steel Orchestra- I still can't find that.
  10:27am dc pat:

history is a nightmare I'm trying to forget
  10:28am Vicki:

http://minipopcube.blogspot.com/2010/08/yann-tomita.html
  10:29am Bad Ronald:

Thanks Vicki!
  10:30am Cheri Pi:

These comments are going by too fast for me.
I have a comment board stalker now.
  10:31am Cecile:

OK, i just saw Jimmy Fallon as Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen's duet on "Whip Your Hair." That was hilarious and really well done.
  10:31am Ken:

Cheri Pi, do you really have a comment stalker?
  10:33am jan:

Vicki- sorry if I don't get it- but clicking on that link below Astro Age did not produce a download.
Can you explain what do do?
  10:38am dc pat:

I think it's fairly safe to say that no one sounds like Prince Rama of Ayodhya right now, can't take that away from them.
  10:39am annie:

any sound-bytes of the kanye apology yet? fresh off the presses.
  10:41am still b/p:

Are those the curlews that call from strangely stunted trees?
  10:41am Cecile:

what apology? What did he apologize for? I didn't see it on his Twitter feed...
  10:43am PMD:

Boy,am I hungry. I gotta go eat breakfast.
  10:43am Cheri Pi:

Ken-yes I really do, how can you help me? Is there a song you can play to deter this heinous behavior?
  10:43am paul:

this songs about me record is creepy and hilarious
  10:44am zoot:

Just logged on and saw the elephant shrew. Very nice. They are remarkable creatures.
  10:44am annie:

just saw some posts on fb he did so this morning.
  10:45am A Stern Critic:

So much for Ken's newfound maturity...
  10:45am carmen:

this song is amazing. makes me wanna tear my face off!
  10:46am Cecile:

Ah. What was the reason? Popping off at the Today show staff?
  10:46am Touchdown Jesus:

Down with New-Found Maturity! Up with Hot Dogs!
  10:47am Steve L:

Top of the food chain Ma!
  10:47am jeremy:

Yes I do!
  10:48am still b/p:

Steve -- that's from "White Meat," right?
  10:50am Cheri Pi:

This board was my safe place, my home away from home...
  10:51am Cecile:

I'd talk to Ken, Cheri. He'll help.
  10:53am Cheri Pi:

Thanks Cecile!
  10:54am Cecile:

he doesn't take that kind of thing lightly.
  10:56am Ken:

Cheri, email me if somebody on these boards is stalking you.. ken at wfmu dot org
  10:56am PMD:

How can someone stalk on a comment board? Not that I want one...
  10:57am glenn:

pmd stole my question.
  10:57am trs:

"It's Wednesday. It's Ken time.
Time for Ken"
  10:57am Doug in Canada:

Oh crap ... that background music is from the most queasy bits of the Deerhunter ... I feel funny ...
  10:57am annie:

cecile he apologized to bush for calling him a racist
  10:58am A Listener - Hurt, Puzzled, Troubled:

We're still on theme! Ken, how could you? It took your last rap so to heart, I made changes in my own life... and now - I don't know what to think!
  10:59am seang:

remember that Kinks song, "Harry Rag"?
  10:59am Doug in Canada:

But, isn't Bush a racist?
  10:59am A Listener - Hurt, Puzzled, Troubled:

That is to say - "I" took your last rap so to heart - not "It" - unless we mean "Cousin It" - in which case, yes...
  11:00am Cheri Pi:

Our comments are viewable, to the public...
I personally don't think Kanye should apologize for anything except getting the diamond grill.
  11:00am PMD:

Not that I want to be one either.
Hi annie btw.
  11:00am glenn:

i think bush should apologize for being every form of bad thing you can think of, but mostly for being stupid.
  11:00am Meat:

Eat me
  11:01am glenn:

i have a harry rag and put myself to bed.
  11:01am Mike East:

That's funny about Kanye. I heard on Aerial View II last week that Bush thought that was the most disgusting part of his presidency...I can think of worse
  11:02am Cheri Pi:

No thanks, I'll take a Not-dog any day.
  11:02am Doug in Canada:

Just heard someone yesterday saying "don't compare Bush to Hitler ... Hitler was elected".
  11:02am glenn:

p.s. the kinks ARE THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND EVER.
  11:02am Lizardner Dave:

.................meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaat...........
  11:02am annie:

  11:06am Lizardner Dave:

  11:06am Cheri Pi:

  11:07am Dickdong:

RMT Nation Union of Rail Maritime & Transport Workers.(UK)
Harry Rag = Fag = Cigarette (Cockney UK)
  11:07am PMD:

What is a song anyway? Is a song anything that is more than one note? Is a song anything that uses an instrument?
  11:07am glenn:

when i'm not drinkin', i'm thinkin' about drinkin'
  11:08am dc pat:

a song is vibrations.
  11:09am dw:

Pani mean 'lady' so 4 would be great. Butane always laughs me dood@!
  11:10am Bugs Bunny:

I'd like to hear some Carl Stalling tape, Mac.
  11:11am Mel:

Sorry, that tape is Blanc.
  11:12am glenn:

"groan"
  11:12am Woody Allen:

I know how to handle tits.
  11:13am glenn:

  11:14am dei x:

it's a bit tinny
  11:15am BSI:

Is it wrong of me to dig leaping lady devils?
  11:16am Aaron:

love this Jcash remix - thanks ken
  11:16am Ken:

Keep your pants on, Glenn and Woody.
  11:16am PMD:

If a song is vibrations then the Wayne Butane thing could be a song, but Ken said no...
  11:17am Ken:

The Wayne Butane thing was a sound collage, not a song. Sheesh.
  11:18am dc pat:

Oh yeah, it's a song. Ken's wrong.
  11:19am jan:

I dunno, Ken, that Wayne Butane was pretty catchy. That hook keeps running in my head taking the place of Cee Lo Greene F*U.
  11:20am dc pat:

Who produces all these animated GIFs?? They're amazing.
  11:20am Ken:

I stand corrected.
  11:22am Dan B From Upstate:

Funny. The picture with Oleg Kostrow made me think of Amy Winehouse. It's the hair. Nice transition.
  11:22am Bad Ronald:

I like a nice woody word..."knockers"! That's woody!
  11:22am jk:

is that a radio edit of the wayne butane? I remember it being way more fcc-unfriendly
  11:23am trs:

isn't knockers mel?
As in Brooks?
  11:23am Denise in DC:

Ken, who was the artist for the Caffeine and Vanilla posters? The style looks like Bob Staake's.
  11:23am Cheri Pi:

Oh, that's a tea stirring scene from "Contempt" I recognize the sofa.
  11:24am luke:

good morning Ken. Just started listening, so I don't know if you have been playing crap. This song is good.
  11:25am dc pat:

ah, you want woody? I've always been fond of "bombs",
  11:25am Bad Ronald:

no no no woody as in not tinny...
  11:25am RSTVMO:

hi ken, it's poor old rstevie. am rilly enjoying your show today. take good care!
  11:26am dc pat:

I know, man! I didn't mean THAT.
  11:27am PMD:

@ luke -lol! out loud.
  11:27am Bad Ronald:

Yes "Bombs" now that's woody! "bombs"!
  11:27am dc pat:

bombs, a nice.....woody sort of word. Boooombzzz, bombzzzzz.....
  11:28am Denise in DC:

Hey, commenters, I could use some help: my office's IT department took Firefox away from me yesterday (long stupid story) and I'm left with IE7. I can't seem to set up the windows on this page so I can read both the playlist and the comments (this was never a problem in Firefox, whine whine). Any suggestions?
  11:29am Bad Ronald:

ha hah hah

I say, mater, cabbage crates coming over the briny.
  11:30am dc pat:

wha-? IE7? now THAT's tinny. It works on mine though, I just checked. Maybe the config is f-d up?
  11:31am Dan B From Upstate:

Yep. I'm also on IE7 at work, and it seems to be working fine for me. Not sure how to help.
  11:31am dc pat:

IE does weird ass things all the time though. Maybe clear the cache?
  11:31am mark:

@Denise in dc, will the IT crew let you upgrade to IE8
  11:31am still b/p:

In the Hall of The Mountain King sounds like Joshua Fit The Battle of Jericho, which bounces me to Alan Sherman's Yasha Got A Bottle of Geritol.
  11:32am Vicki:

Ken
  11:34am dei x:

that polar bear sculpture must be the bane of all curators and housekeeping staff
  11:36am Vicki:

oooh, this stamp cancelling record is great
  11:37am Denise in DC:

Mark, no, they won't. "We are only supporting IE7 at this time."
  11:40am mark:

geez Denise tell them to get with it, the beta version of IE9 is already availabele.
  11:40am dc pat:

it sounds like a fluke to me, I'd reboot....if you're allowed to do that...and does "we are only supporting" mean that you can support IE8? that is download and install on your own? what about Google Chrome?
  11:42am dc pat:

ok, later guys. Gotta go pick up thee Boy.
  11:42am Frank in VT:

I like the google pic. When I do it in the US, I also get

the tea party is wrong
the tea party is scary
  11:45am PMD:

I heard that VA is going to offer a Tea Party license plate. THey need something like 250 prepaid orders, and are close to getting them.
  11:45am PMD:

BTW, I like vanilla.
  11:46am Denise in DC:

We are not authorized to put software on our systems, not even a plugin. Somebody in our IT department had a shitfit when they figured out that I had Firefox, even though somebody from their office put it on my system about five years ago, and I've never hidden it from them.

So no, I can't install either IE8 or Google Chrome. If I was free to install software, I would still have Firefox, and it would have been updated.
  11:47am dc pat:

well I still think it's a fluke. It will probably go away..
  11:47am dei x:

It's so we can identify which cars to key, block, sideswipe, fill with cement, etc
  11:47am Philosopher:

We are all naked at some level.

I'll try rebooting if necessary, but I probably just need to get used to the damn IE, after five years of using Firefox almost exclusively. Thanks for the suggestions, all.
  11:48am Lizardner Dave:

I heard downloads of IE 7 were infested with bedbugs.
  11:49am catfishrivers:

What is the album info for the Ghanaian Postal Workers tune? An old roomy of mine had that compilation in college and I have been trying to find it ever since. Please do tell!
  11:50am OM:

@Denise: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

Firefox portable edition. It installs on a USB stick. You can use it and avoid the IT nazis.
  11:51am Denise in DC:

Is that the genie from Pee-Wee's Playhouse or somebody from an Ed Wood flick? The .gif won't hold still long enough for me to tell.
  11:51am luke:

Deinse - try portableapps.com - if your work lets you use flash drives.
  11:51am Denise in DC:

Ooh. Thanks, OM.
  11:52am luke:

OM, i was late.
  11:52am dei x:

Jaambi from PeeWee - I have the action figure.
  11:53am Denise in DC:

Oh, crap, that's right -- we've got encryption software that fucks up flash drives. But portableapps.com is good to know about.
  11:54am Denise in DC:

Thanks.
  11:54am Bad Ronald:

What kind of action does the figure do? Isn't Jambi just a head in a box?
  11:55am BSI:

I understand that swine flu thing has bedbugs as well.
  11:55am Denise in DC:

Is that swine flu spot serious? I assumed at first that it was a parody.
  11:55am paul:

how can you hide my eyes if they're shut?
  11:56am Denise in DC:

Bedbugs spread swine flu. Also that flesh-eating virus.
  11:57am trs:

"lost elbows" -- that taxi driver tune?
That's a good one.
  11:58am weiterso:

we need no flu, we need more polka

Scott Pilgrim for "The End" Graphic. Nice.
  11:59am AnAnonymousParty:

From now on when my wife asks me what I'm doing i can say "sory I thought I heard somebody playing the piano".
  12:06pm dei x:

The Jambi (Jaambi? dunno) head manually rotates, and the doors to his box open. Slightly more action figure action than the blinking penguin from The Wrong Trousers.
  12:09pm Bad Ronald:

cool, thanks dei x!
  5:04pm marq:

missed the show live again. didn't even get to hear any of it or even really look at the playlist until now. excited to see Charles Bronson on the gifs. He is buried in Vermont. He had some sort of ranch here and loved it and now buried here. Will maybe listen to the show in archive this weekend while I'm doin stuff. Thanks, Ken. Still one of the top shows on WFMU for some reason...in my mind, which may or may not be that good or accurate.
