Listener comments!

  12:16pm
drewo:

Happy Holidays Irene! Thank you for your gift of great radio programming throughout the year.
  12:18pm
frenchee:

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Irene! Hope Santa is real good to you this season.
  12:37pm
Looms:

Peaceful. I like this word.
  12:41pm
Robert:

What'd you have to do to first reduce and then get rid of that artifact in this playing of that recording? I'm curious.
  12:43pm
annie:

so pleased i can be listening this afternoon..have a sewing project..
  12:57pm
Looms:

Quietness is a nice word too.
  12:58pm
dc pat:

ah, excellent choice here with Coltrane. Thanks.
  1:03pm
dc pat:

AAAA! My daughter just got her first pair of Uggs....I can't make fun of them anymore!
  1:14pm
lokimotive:

You may be thinking of What Child is This? a Christmas Carol from 1865 that is usually sung to the tune of the much older Greensleeves.
  1:29pm
mark:

My daughter is asking me for Uggs too. After I saw the price I know why they are called Uggs.
  1:34pm
Irene:

Ah, That's it Lokimotive. I couldn't remember-- brain not working too well today.
  1:41pm
Uggly:

I thought those floppy boots were supposed to be seriously out of style now.
  1:54pm
Looms:

Soeur Sourire! Ha ha! Awesome!
Her story is quite dramatic though... Some kind of women's rights icone here in France.
  2:01pm
Moe:

CRACKLIN' SARABANDE!
  2:27pm
dc pat:

apparently she got $25 knock offs. I thought they were out too but I guess w/ 9 year-olds and Georgetown types, they're not.
  2:27pm
Chris:

Oh it hurts me to hear my girl Irene feeling x-mas blue while making me sooooo happy with your holiday selections. You may have no physical children Dear but you have a vast unseen family that listens to you week after week. Thank you for the gift that you keep giving and focus on the good that you do. Thank you for the Evidence of Life Transmitted by Air. Thank you for your soothing voice and impeccable taste. But most of all consider your "other" children -- or nieces and nephews -- for whom life would be less satisfying without your time and effort. If I were rich the station would never want for money -- but as I am not, these words are all I can offer: G_d bless you and keep you, and thank you for the person you are. Consider this a return portion of the good cheer you spread year round.
  2:36pm
Irene:

Chris, I'm so very touched by your note! I do know that all of you are out there and are very supportive of what I/we do at WFMU. I'm happy to spread the "gift" of free-form radio and will continue to do so for as l long as they'll give me a show. Thank you!
  2:40pm
Chris:

You are welcome. All happiness to you always.
  2:47pm
PMD:

Irene, this has been perfect for me. Thanks for the Christmas music.
  2:48pm
Davice:

Just tuned in . . . sound like I missed most of a good show
  2:50pm
Norm:

Thanks for the Beefheart. I will miss him.
  2:51pm
SueA:

Sounds like Mr. Bean's dad
  2:53pm
PMD:

I haven't been able to listen carefully to you speak Irene. I thought you sounded sick, but didn't know you were blue. I agree with Chris 100%
  2:58pm
Irene:

Oh, Christmas always makes me a little blue PMD, but doing the show brings me out of it a bit. Davice, there's always the archives to check out the show from the beginning. Thanks Everyone and Happy Krimble!
