Listener comments!

  3:18pm
fred:

Maybe that cover should feature an asparagus as the needle by now
  3:24pm
Ike:

Don't wait! Pledge now! You have a much better chance (I bet) of winning prizes now than almost anytime else for the rest of the thon (this timeslot tends to be a tad slow if I remember correctly).
  3:29pm
Robert:

If you really want to get rid of the vinegar smell, you could spill some ammonia. Cure's worse than disease, though.
  3:31pm
Liz B.:

  3:39pm
Chadsey Collins:

Prizes up for grabs:
Aloe Blacc - "Good Things" CD
Dan Charnas - "The Big Payback" Book
pledge $15 or more to get in the running!
  3:44pm
Ike:

And when Liz says WFMU doesn't have a mommy or daddy paying the electric bill, that's because a lot of NPR-affiliated stations, college stations, etc. DO have that. It's very common. (Of course then the college is often able to sell off such stations for a big check.) So FMU is truly independent.
  3:45pm
Jesus Christ:

hrrrrmpph... i don't want you guys either. :P
  3:51pm
Ike:

Feh Jesus, your true ideals aren't really espoused by those Family Radio creeps and other so-called Christian radio types to whom Upsala might've sold FMU....
  3:52pm
1.800.989.9368::

  3:54pm
HΘRNET MΘNTANA:

Family Radio. If you listen to the fossil head of that org try to talk through the phlegm in his throat, I defy you not to throw up.
  3:58pm
Ike:

PLEDGE NOW! This might be the trickiest timeslot for pledges of all the weekday workday timeslots. Don't let Billy Jam down, y'all! Cubicle dwellers unite.
  3:59pm

  4:40pm
Danne D:

Someone needs to put the bat signal out to the prize vultures - especially since it's all good stuff :) Of course the anti-prize-vulture forces should marshal up support and mass the troops as well.
  4:44pm
Cold Sesame Noodles:

Danne D, you deserve a commission on every pledge that comes in while you on duty. You have logged more marathon hours than anyone on the station!
  4:46pm
fred:

ALF, I'd love to help some more -- and help myself to these amazing prizes -- but I'm done for this year.
I hope someone else from europe will pick up the slack

fred:

Euro listeners, we can only listen to such great radio because the station is putting serious money into the streams. And all that without subsidies or any advertising. It's time to make sure we don't lose that lifeline.
The mouse of today is a great way to do that, it looks like a lot but it's just a dollar a day, AND it can be spread out over monthly installments.
But any amount helps, so PLEDGE right now!
Alessandro, Thierry, Félix, and Makiko; I'm especially looking at you
  5:05pm
DJ COOL C:

Big UP Billy and thanks for always having an unpredictable playlist that keeps me educated and interested !
