I think old-school hip-hop was also stronger on album because 1) they didn't know if each record would be their last, and 2) they had to cut it live.

the album won't die, as Chuck D has said, as long as it's a collection of tracks. If you need it to be a continuous experience, you'll have a more limited audience. Other people are cool with that. Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree chopped up his 1st solo album into 50 tracks that you had to play in order.

Wouldn't Kanye sell a lot more products than someone coming up to the mic speaking about the lack of veggies in local stores in the projects? Great sounds and thoughts today, Billy! Thanks....Azeem should contact D Cyphernauts if he wants to make a presentation in Southwestern CT (less than an hour outside NYC). They are a conscious MC duo who help promote real hip hop in CT. Besides being fine people they are both school teachers and have been holding monthly Enter The Cypher events for over five years now.
