re: Cream, Hendrix and MC5
I'll have to check some info back at home, but I think Hendrix only crossed paths with the MC5 for one gig in Detroit. It sticks in my head because it wasn't on the MC5's "home turf" of the Grande Ballroom -- it was at a Masonic temple or some such. And, IIRC, the MC5 were way down on the bill below the Soft Machine and the Rationals. A bootleg circulates. Cream, I think, did a stint at the Grande Ballroom with the MC5 opening up. Cream may indeed have had a toguher time depending on the year of those gigs.
