  12:28pm
andymorphic:

Hello Irene and all.
Happily joining the REM-sleep party.
  12:56pm
Van in Dallas:

Some nice first-time artists by you today, Irene
  1:00pm
drewo:

Greetings Irene from southern Arizona. Some unusual but welcome showers this mornings here in the high desert. Now the sun has returned. We are now only 2 hours behind Jersey City. AZ don't do that time change thing.
  1:06pm
Mike East:

synchonicity: I was typing an order and wrote the words "Le Poisson Rouge" at the exact moment you said it, Irene. Enjoying the music!
  1:07pm
Mike East:

- erm - synchronicity
  1:20pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Iron & Wine fixation?
  1:26pm
Irene:

Not exactly Iron & Wine but maybe I'll play some, now that you mention it...
  1:34pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Israel,Earth):

hey Irene!
  1:35pm
Irene:

Hi Yair! What's happening in your part of the world?
  1:36pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

fine by me!
  1:36pm
BDR:

Saw BPB's Wolfroy tour at Birchmere in Alexandria VA a month ago, was wonderful (as always). Thanks for the song!
  1:41pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Israel,Earth):

All good here, everything collapses like any other place in the world ;)
at least we have Bonnie Prince as a soundtrack for that...
  1:56pm
juli:

James Cole: I'm here about some monkeys.
Jeffrey Goines: Monkeys?
James Cole: Monkeys. Yes. Twelve of them.
  2:00pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

no one does this style better than I&W!
  2:18pm
Van in Dallas:

By the way, really enjoyed Black Fortress of Opium. Many thanks Irene for engineering that for Julie (and us)!
  2:19pm
pgw in mntclr:

Iron & Wine > Iron Maiden & Wine?
  2:20pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I dunno...with enough wine, Iron Maiden could be a lot of fun!
  2:22pm
pgw in mntclr:

then perhaps Iron & Wine ≈ Iron Maiden & Wine
  2:24pm
Listening Out There:

Happy 25th, Irene!
  2:24pm
drewo:

Saw Tinariwen here in Tucson last week. Bass player alone is worth price of admission.
  2:25pm
Van in Dallas:

Wow! 25 years?? I've only known of WFMU for about six months! Happy Anniversary, and I for one am glad you are still here!
  2:26pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I believe Tinarawen is headed up to CLE in the next couple of weeks--going to have to remember to get to that!

I found a flickr group

Andrew:

Since you commented.
+10:1 is tinariwen written in the Tamazight abjad. Abjad means an alphabet without vowels. So + is t, 1 is n, 0 is r, and : is w. By a coincidence all the letters of their name look sort of like familiar symbols to us, but the 0 on my t-shirt with the camel on the guitar neck is very round, a little wider than it is tall.
  2:31pm
Irene:

Ah, thanks Andrew! I knew there was a good explanation. As usual, you listeners help me fill in the gaps.
  2:32pm
cglenn:

beautiful music, Irene
  2:34pm
Looms:

I second cglenn. Lovely show (again)
  2:37pm

  2:47pm
v k:

Beirut - so happy to see they are enjoying success - still recall instantly liking the band upon hearing them for 1st time on Ben Walker's music show in Feb 2009 ("La Llorona" was the track)
  2:50pm
Van in Dallas:

Oooh. Thanks for the Sandy Denny! Reminds me that an album is out today featuring un-scored Sandy Denny lyrics. Someone posted this last week... http://www.theagilmore.net/welcome.cfm
  2:56pm
Van in Dallas:

Strong finish! What another great, solid show...thanks Irene!!
  2:58pm
yair yona (tel aviv, Israel,Earth):

Hey Irene, what's this Wizz recording? I don't know this one
