Lizardner Dave:

Just waitin' for Ken's show to end before I switch streams.
  11:59am
Van in DC:

About that time. Hi Amanda and peoples.
  12:01pm
Carmichael:

After a self-imposed hiatus, it's back to Amanda's place. Hi everyone.
  12:02pm
drr:

Oh cool, just tuned in (via the iphone app) in New Orleans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm
Amanda:

Hello hello to you guys all! Carmichael, why on earth would you impose such a thing? drr, that warms my heart -- I hope to get back to New Orleans sometime this year.
  12:03pm
G:

Your usual show link is not on the homepage yet, as of a couple minutes ago. I got here via Drummer stream Info and then the link to your playlists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm
Amanda:

Hi G! Thanks for that... I haven't heard from Doug yet today and he is who usually sets that up. (I'd do it, but I am busy...) I'm just glad you found us!
  12:06pm
G:

I lied. It's there, but way down under the pledge box and even the 7SD banner, so I didn't spot it. It's usually right under the main stream link to Kurt.
  12:06pm
Carmichael:

You don't want to hear my sad tale of woe, Amanda. You don't have enough cryin' towels, believe me. But here I am, hopefully to stay.
  12:07pm
EL:

It's Breakfast With Nazario out here on the west coast. Time for coffee #3.
  12:10pm
Skirkie:

This. I want this.
  12:10pm
Carmichael:

Hey EL, what city are you in?
  12:11pm
Adam in Portland:

Nazario's got it!
  12:11pm
EL:

Hillsboro, OR— just far enough away from Portland that I never have any fun.
  12:13pm
Joe D.:

SUPER MARIO BROS 2 SUCKED. i am still mad about it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm
Amanda:

Wow, we have a nice Pacific Northwest breakfast convention going here. I am 100% excite.

Joe, that makes a lot of sense to me seeing as SMB2 WAS ALWAYS MY FAVORITE ONE!
  12:15pm
EL:

I hated that movie too Joe D!
  12:19pm
EL:

Amanda— who was you're go to character? Toad was my guy.
  12:19pm
Lizardner Dave:

Hey is there a flash version of this stream or do I have to wait for an archive? My job kindly gave me a new computer and took away admin rights so I can't install winamp or some other program that opens .pls extensions. Grrr....
  12:20pm
Skirkie:

I thought this was Toupé, and was about to freak out that you had stuff by Toupé.
  12:22pm
Carmichael:

@EL: He he, know what you mean. I live in Sacramento, but used to work for Intel in Hillsboro.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Amanda:

LD -- I am pretty sure there is no Flash version, but I may be wrong about that. If I'm right, I'm sorry (but yes, the archive should be worth waiting for).

EL -- At first it was the Princess, I think because that was empowering for a 12-y-o girl or however old I was to be able to play as a girl. Then after I beat the game I would try to use everyone to avoid getting bored.
  12:28pm
EL:

@Carmichael Aw yeah. I live in an apartment complex that resembles Smurf Village by way of Threes Company. Hoping to move into town in 6 months or so. How's Sacramento? You got SS records at least, right?
  12:28pm
Lizardner Dave:

I feel sad. I will never hear this show live again unless I happen to be not at work but near a computer on a Wednesday. Oh well.

i have come to a peaceful place re: valentine's day. i let those who dig it celebrate it as they will, even if it's not my bag. just another day for me, but could be quite special for someone else. more power to 'em.

disregarding the somewhat mixed message, this is the perfect valentine's day gift for amanda. http://www.manhattanportage.com/blog/?tag=heart-shaped-45

A premium solely with twins, now there's a thought.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm

Hahaha Brian! I once typed "punk" into my iTunes search field and got everyone from Tori Amos to Everything But the Girl...
  1:17pm

it's a little chilly here too.
  1:17pm
glenn:

i will reiterate my view - howlin' wolf started punk rock.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Amanda:

Welcome back from the Mall, Van!

glenn, my friend Helen loves that Mayer Hawthorne record. When it came out we went together to Turntable Lab in the East Village to find a copy but it had sold out in like half a day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
Amanda:

How many of you have ever exploited the fact that "Valentine's Day" has the initials "V.D."? (In a witty card, for example.) Forgive me if that question is a bit blue for a daytime audience.
  1:25pm
glenn:

somewhere i have a star of david shaped 45 of the temple city kazoo orchestra doing whole lotta love.
  1:26pm
ndbob:

I remember that record Glenn
  1:30pm
listener james from westwood:

i used to call it that when i was more actively anti–valentine's day.
hey, this board is global. it's always safe harbor time somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm

This is the best song I have played so far today.

Do not wish to sound pious but I will decide when to buy my wife flowers, which I do. VD notwithstanding.
  1:40pm
Danne D:

Happy Wednesday everyone :)
  1:40pm
listener james from westwood:

the combined valentine's day/presidents day "simpsons" episode is heartbreaking and hilarious. one of the top episodes.
  1:41pm
Danne D:

I'm sure you'll have a great Valentine's Day, Amanda.
  1:43pm
Van in DC:

I tried to trick the popup flash player into playing this stream, but feeding it this show ID number, but it said NO:

"Error: This show doesn't exist or doesn't have an archive file."
  1:44pm
Skirkie:

That's such an older sibling thing to assume the younger sibling will want to do a thing just because you're doing the thing.
  1:44pm
ndbob:

great song - ever hear the version by The Orchids?
  1:45pm
Danne D:

S'up Skirkie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm

@Skirkie -- I know, that was a jerk thing to say! My parents are guilty of that mindset also.

Coincidentally, my Mall walk today took me right up to Capitol Hill. Nothing was shaking that I saw.
  1:59pm
glenn:

i'm hearin' a j. geils vibe from the inmates.

@ljfw I brought earplugs for the phone room last year when Todd was my co-host.

@glenn har har. :)

@Amanda (and everyone else) hi! Enjoying the show, but running out to get some lunch now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm

Enjoy the fresh air, efd!

And that was definitely the Inmates with "Dirty Water," but I don't know if anyone else did that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm
Doug S.:

This Anderson Johnson track is so amazingly raw. He signed a deal with a bigger label and they had him go back in the studio and record a much tamer version. This is the best.
