Live Performance by The Loom (Dan DeSloover: bass; Jon Alvarez: drums; Jon Fanning: vocals, guitar, banjo; Lis Rubard: trumpet, French horn, bkg. vocals; Sarah Renfro: vocals, keyboards, floor tom)

Brooklyn-based folk-rockers The Loom named their newest album "Teeth" in honor of the physical part of you that outlasts you the longest. It's maybe a statement about legacies, and how people strive to find joy, despite life's setbacks, that will outlast their physicality. The Loom conduct their musical search with intricate percussive moments in psyche-folk infused tunes. The Loom played live on Irene's show.

@Chris from DC - by the way, meant to mention that Julie frequently plays Black Fortress of Opium on her Dark Night of the Soul show. She had them in for a live set not all that long ago, also.
  2:05pm
Van in DC:

You sure get a lot of wonderful live sets on your show Irene. Much appreciated! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm
Irene:

Hey Van! I do know about that live set because I engineered it! Black Forest of Opium were really great. Maybe I'll get them in for a session of my own, now that they have a new album.

By the way, I Love doing the live music, and I'm offering a compilation of some of these performances that I'll be offering as my premium during the Marathon next week. More on that then.
  2:25pm
Looms:

To lay down on the sofa was a dangerous idea; I fell asleep and missed the live set :(
  2:36pm
Davice:

Still illing but doing better since I've been imersed in all the fine music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm

So far so good . . . pink eye sucks!
  2:47pm
Davice:

Irene - did you have a show on saturday's after David and Goliath and before the hound many years ago on FMU?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
Irene:

Yes I did, many years ago. I'm somewhat of an old-timer here at 'FMU.
  2:50pm
Davice:

You haven't changed your style and I'm glad you have a 3 hour show . . . 1 hour was not enough
  2:50pm
Van in DC:

Every time I see Damon & Naomi, my mind parses it as Dan & Naomi. Dan is my brother, and you can probably guess his wife's name :)

Had to listen again to The Loom, and up through Sarah Renfro's really nice single...wow, she is from Denton, TX? That's close to where I came from recently, back to DC. Fellow Texan in any case :)
