Call Me Dolores Like They Do In The Stories:
Hello mess of Jeffs. Quick in & out today. To a gig (is that short for giggle?). Jeff G, really enjoyed 'The Easter Parade' by Yates. Name change due to forseen circumstances.

Jeff G:
Thanks for the stop-by, Dolores! Glad you dug the book. Will try to think of something cheerier for next time...
In high school, Adam dated (briefly) a dear friend of ours whose mother was a sort of godmother to the AACM. She drove musicians to gigs, put up posters and distributed flyers, got them radio airplay and helped with legal matters in getting the organization incorporated. I blogged about her here: http://bit.ly/ISoaCd
In high school, my friend Eric's mom got us gigs collecting coats and serving drinks at fancy parties.

In high school my friend Parsons and I used to detail cars. We started getting calls for luxury sports cars. I couldn't drive stick so I remember burning the clutch on a Porsche 911. It stunk. But I did use cue tips to clean out the air vents.

ASNB:
stone/water is one of my favorites of this type of music.

After high school, I went on to college, but my best friend stayed home to play in a rock band. It became extremely popular in the DC area and played clubs and toured the East Coast regularly. My friend's mom worked the T-shirts and records table in the lobby at dozen of their shows.
Yeah, Dan, absolutely some of our favorite music of all time.

Yah yah, me too. I just got the new Ogun release of the Blue Notes' live '79 performance in Belgium. Makes me want to cry. No really. Like a baby. A happy baby.
so where does this signal originate? at wfmu? where are all involved? and what is the give the drummer some stream? just curious to put the pieces together.

Hugo:
There's an incendiary version of "Funk Dem Dudu" on the BN 79 release. Ought to be played on the radio/stream (hint...)
We at D:O are still saving our pennies for that collection... (but noted, Hugo!)

This stream, Give the Drummer Radio, is one of several "alternate" streams hosted by WFMU. I started the stream in 2010 as a means for continuing to broadcast my radio show after moving to Pittsburgh. The server for the stream is housed at WFMU, but I control the software remotely from Pittsburgh. Once I got my show established on the stream, I began inviting other music obsessives to do radio programs on it with me.
You can see a schedule here: http://wfmu.org/table?period=7115
When radio shows aren't airing on the stream, it "plays" a round-the-clock flow of music of all kinds that I curate for it.

That's great and industrious, Doug! So where is Jeff?
I'll tell him that. I didn't think his daughters wanted anything to do with him. Which record? Here's the most recent picture of him http://eremite.com/news
