Favoriting Seven Second Delay with Andy and Ken: Playlist from May 30, 2012 Favoriting

The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. Stunt radio which subjects the radio audience to concepts and topics which mature adults should not have to endure. Find the fatal flaw. (Visit homepage.)

Listener comments!

  6:00pm
kat330:

Howdy, carry overs and newcomers!
  6:01pm
northguineahills:

I haven't been around for 7 second delay in months & more months.
  6:01pm
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, what a lineup today!
To think, someone will be SHARPENING A PENCIL ONSTAGE! I'm hyperventilating...
  6:02pm
marc:

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS is one of my fav bands. "BIRDHOUSE IN YOUR SOUL" is an awesome song.
  6:02pm
Philo Gristle:

Hope the frontpage photo of a Soulful Birdhouse Angers TMBG to perform today!
  6:02pm
NukaColaJunkie:

TMBG FTW!
  6:02pm
Matt from Springfield:

TMBG, David Rees, and Judah Friedlander too?! And a surprise Charlie Brown voice artist! This truly is an excellent lineup.
  6:02pm
pierre:

I'm on your tracks Matt,
bonsoir tout le monde !
  6:03pm
kat330:

@marc: We can only hope they'll play it. PG's and my closest to an "our song" we've got. :)
  6:03pm
northguineahills:

My gf called me at 5:38 saying she was getting off of work and could go. A little late as I'm at least 25 minutes from the UCB theater if everything goes right w/ the MTA.
  6:03pm
Caryn:

I wonder: will the artisanal pencil sharpening be with a sharpener or with a knife?
  6:05pm
Philo Gristle:

Long as it's not a file.
  6:05pm
Matt from Springfield:

Raffle for Ken's radio slot: "Because he just doesn't give a crap anymore!"
  6:05pm
kat330:

Quinn is a real trooper for coming to the UCB each time.
  6:05pm
TEA:

YES Anything would be better than what he played this morning! I listened in to just a lil bit and I'm like what is he playing. This is much better!
  6:06pm
Matt from Springfield:

Bonsoir pierre!
Good evening/night/etc to everyone else!
  6:07pm
kat330:

I hope they let her in for free at least.
  6:07pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

This guy sounds like a TMBG fan.
  6:07pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

I would love to have this DJ slot.
  6:08pm
Caryn:

The slot would definitely be cool. If only I lived over there...
  6:08pm
kat330:

I think TWO hours is the perfect time slot. One is too quick and three is -- can be -- a bit long.
  6:09pm
marc:

I WILL DO IT!!! i would love to be a DJ on WFMU
  6:11pm
pierre:

I'd like to apply too, three hour of french on wfmu.
I'd send some dangerous cheese for it.
  6:11pm
kat330:

@Caryn: I also thought it'd be cool if you applied/got the archives manager position advertised.
  6:11pm
Philo Gristle:

I would've played Burl Ives, myself.
  6:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

Glad Amadeo got the ticket--he seems like the biggest "character" of them all!
Look forward to checking out that show.
  6:12pm
kat330:

@PG: Hey, *I'm* the provocateur in this household!
  6:13pm
Philo Gristle:

I meant I would've performed my DJ duties in the character of Burl Ives, while playing The Eagles.
  6:13pm
Caryn:

@kat: the FMA job? Yeah, that would've been cool, but I think I would lack the technical know-how.
  6:14pm
kat330:

David Mamet was (still is?) an avid ping-pong player.
  6:14pm
kat330:

Screw Will Shortz!
  6:15pm
Carmichael:

Burl Ives is persona non grata on FMU. His performance for the House Un-American Activities sealed his fate.
  6:15pm
glenn:

ping pong pah. air hockey for pussies.
  6:16pm
kat330:

@Carm: Yeah, that was our little joke up there. :) Actually, I prefer the term "wampeter" to "provocateur."
  6:18pm
Caryn:

I was just rewatching my "Flight of the Conchords" DVDs and there was Judah Friedlander! Fun little appearance.
  6:18pm
Philo Gristle:

Makes sense that Burl played Big Daddy for Elia.
  6:18pm
Matt from Springfield:

"Grave Raper" unacceptable. Eh, it was worth a try...
  6:20pm
Matt from Springfield:

I love 30 Rock, but as it's entering probably its 7th season, it's probably better to let it go while on top.
  6:21pm
kat330:

Judah, keep on beating Shortz whenever you have the chance!
  6:21pm
marc:

Grave raper not okay, but tomb raider is.
  6:22pm
kat330:

@Matt: I concur. Not sure everyone's heart is still 100% in it.
  6:22pm
marc:

A Gay Couple?
  6:23pm
Philo Gristle:

I prefer the Brit system of 7 episodes a season, plus a Christmas special. Two-three seasons, tops. Kill it while still fresh.
  6:24pm
Carmichael:

That's not the American way, Philo. Run it into the ground, kill it off, and then syndicate it forever. I can still see Cheers and WKRP almost every day ....
  6:26pm
Philo Gristle:

I don't like John Wayne or apple pie, either.
  6:26pm
kat330:

Leave 'em wanting more should be the idea. Greed supersedes.
  6:26pm
kat330:

Is he going to use his teeth?
  6:27pm
Carmichael:

Sounds like a Johnny Cochran-ism, kat.
  6:27pm
Philo Gristle:

I would like to see Erich Von Stroheim's full-length 8-hour Greed, though.
  6:28pm
kat330:

Hunh? (@Carm) Nothing I typed rhymes, does it? ;)
  6:29pm
Matt from Springfield:

El Casco 430

@kat: The NEED for the GREED superSEEDS!
  6:30pm
kat330:

Ah, OK. Not a student of Cochranisms.
  6:30pm
Caryn:

@PG: also wouldn't mind seeing the 6-hour cut of Capra's "Lost Horizon". Or the 5-hour cut of Lynch's "Dune" that Herbert saw and thought was awesome.
  6:31pm
Matt from Springfield:

David Rees has a great, dry delivery! No idea he was this hilarious in person!
  6:32pm
northguineahills:

I worked for 4 years for the Census, and had to observe the trainers training the door knockers.
  6:32pm
kat330:

Pressure!!
  6:32pm
glenn:

i watch a lot of b.b.c. stuff. my current thing is shameless.
  6:33pm
Philo Gristle:

Use Kp380-BK at work, myself. Best damn sharpener.
  6:33pm
Matt from Springfield:

Impart that pencil with good luck!
  6:34pm
glenn:

i use an olfa knife.
  6:34pm
marc:

Soft Bongos?
  6:34pm
kat330:

And Philo's job requires tip perfection.
  6:34pm
kat330:

Rotate the shaft? Are we still talking pencils?
  6:34pm
Philo Gristle:

@Caryn Ditto!I was sooo delighted when Sam Fuller's BIG RED ONE came out in the extended version.
  6:34pm
glenn:

or a plane.
  6:36pm
Caryn:

@PG: oh yeah, that's a great DVD!
  6:36pm
Philo Gristle:

Shameless, glenn? We're behind on current shows, last new one we saw was, I think, Saxondale.
  6:37pm
kat330:

Well, and Sherlock and Downton Abbey, too.
  6:37pm
Caryn:

@PG: Shameless is a few years old. It introduced James McAvoy to the world.
  6:37pm
Matt from Springfield:

Returning the shavings, just like the mohel!
  6:38pm
kat330:

I use a mechanical. Shame on me.
  6:38pm
marc:

it'll probably break as soon as your son presses the point to paper, Ken.
  6:39pm
Innuendo:

Whoa.
"Too many pencils to sharpen"?
  6:40pm
Matt from Springfield:

Yay David!
  6:40pm
glenn:

saxondale is pretty funny. i also love the killing, which is a danish / british cop show. fantastic stuff.
  6:40pm
Philo Gristle:

McAvoy, ah. Not instantly eager to see it.

Speaking of Brit tv comedy, anybody here see the Canadian show Newsroom by Ken Finkleman? Clearly preceded The Office in every single way. Droll, hilarous, mock-docu. Outstanding show, mostly forgotten.
  6:41pm
kat330:

I guess a mechanical pencil is like a dildo in David's estimation.
  6:41pm
Matt from Springfield:

Ohhhhhhh (gets the Charlie Brown voice artist ref) :)
  6:42pm
mark on the train to northport:

This is not entirely in trombone? Impostor he should be playing a trumpet!
  6:42pm
glenn:

by the way, p.g, since you you like the crime, have you read fred vargas? HAH! ken finkleman is brilliant.
  6:42pm
Caryn:

The original "The Killing" is good, the US version has both characters and plot lines that annoy the heck out of me.
The latest BBC series I've started watching is "Accused". They just showed the first episode today. I'm already looking forward to future seasons. Especially the "Sean Bean as a transvestite" episode.
  6:42pm
kat330:

Oh, glenn, btw, we're currently watching Slings & Arrows on our DVD rotation. You see it?
  6:43pm
glenn:

i have seen slings and arrows three or four times.
  6:44pm
Matt from Springfield:

Bravo Greg!!!
  6:44pm
kat330:

YAY!!!!
  6:44pm
marc:

I once dated a girl who had soft bongos.
  6:44pm
Philo Gristle:

Fred Vargas, no. But based on wiki glances I may give it a shot. I rather liked Camilleri, and loved Manchette, speaking of translated crime.
  6:45pm
marc:

BIRDHOUSE IN YOUR SOUL
  6:45pm
glenn:

oh. doc martin's a good show, if a little twee.
  6:46pm
kat330:

Our robins surrounding our "birdhouse" are really digging this. Literally.
  6:46pm
glenn:

fred's a she, by the way.
  6:46pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

barf
  6:46pm
Caryn:

I love me some "Slings & Arrows". I'm curious to see "Veep", mostly because of the Chris Morris and Armando Iannucci connections.
  6:48pm
kat330:

[clap]
  6:48pm
Philo Gristle:

"Accused," never heard of it but I loved Jimmy McGovern's 'Cracker' with Robbie Coltrane so automatically requires a look-see.
  6:49pm
kat330:

An inside joke.
  6:49pm
marc:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhjSzjoU7OQ
  6:49pm
Caryn:

@PG: yeah, you might even be able to watch it online from Yle.
  6:51pm
Matt from Springfield:

They WERE! ARE! and CONTINUE TO BE! Giants!!!
Bravo!!!!!!!
  6:52pm
marc:

BIRDHOUSE
  6:52pm
Listener Dave from Seattle:

The worst band ever.
  6:53pm
kat330:

Ask if their pencils are sharpened.
  6:53pm
Philo Gristle:

Great set, soulful even lacking a birdhouse!
  6:53pm
marc:

OR PARTICLE MAN
  6:54pm
glenn:

boiler - rads. furnace - ducts.
  6:54pm
kat330:

or Ana Ng.
  6:55pm
marc:

OR THE THEME TO "MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE."
  6:55pm
dc pat:

Yuck
  6:56pm
Matt from Springfield:

UNREHEARSED Birdhouse!!
  6:56pm
kat330:

Guess it was a good thing I wasn't shocked. :( Saved PG's hearing and my heart.
  6:57pm
marc:

FINGERTIPS PT 2.
  6:57pm
northguineahills:

darn, i just listened to fingertips last Friday (in my T's of my records)
  7:00pm
kat330:

[clap clap] Thanks, Ken & Andy and all illustrious guests and listeners! Sweet dreams all!
  7:00pm
Caryn:

@PG: late answer, but I did watch some episodes of "Newsroom" back in the day. Took a while to answer, because it sounded familiar, but I had to look up the Finnish title to realise that "yep, watched some episodes of that".
  7:01pm
Matt from Springfield:

Excellent episode of 7SD! (Whoa, isn't that an oxymoron?!) :)

Good night all!
  7:01pm
glenn:

everybody fucking clap!!
  7:02pm
Philo Gristle:

Thanks everybody! Great show! Just like Newsroom!
