holy crap, I looked up Huntress and it's true, their lead singer looks like a Frazetta warrior babe come to life. Cool. Time for women to get into some of that Manowar action.

Hi All! Thanks for tuning in! My guest today is Jonathan Cummins; his latest band: USA Out of Vietnam is playing now. He's also responsible for the likes of Bionic and the Doughboys, which you'll hear soon. Please post any questions you may have - he will be on at 1pm!
  12:31pm
44 H M/F Cascadia:

Question: What was his first album?
  12:32pm
Cecile:

that last song sounded like Neurosis crossed with the Beach Boys. What are Jonathan's favorite musical influences?
  12:35pm
44 H M/F Cascadia:

My first record was "Do the Hucklebuck" by Jackie Gleason http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsT8ML0dc10
  12:39pm
joe:

Question: I read that he did work with Circus Lupus (it was on the internet so it must be tru) if so what was the extent and his feelings of doing such.
  12:40pm
Cecile:

Not feeling it. Trying hard, but not working
  12:41pm
Cecile:

he doesn't have a good story and lots of words to sink his teeth into.
  12:42pm
paul b:

"Ha! ha!" quoth he, "full plain I see,
The Devil knows how to row."
- Coleridge : Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner part 7, 12th stanza

  12:51pm

  12:52pm
Mariano:

Thanks jljl!
  12:54pm
joe:

Have to say i was kind of let down when the NJ Doughboys reunited (although I am very much a fan) a few years back because I started seeing all the ads and got very excited :)

It is a nice sentiment but comets are made of ice :)

  1:45pm
jljl:

thx for the info. Wish I'd known about the reunion (one of the first bands I played on the radio). Saw the DB at the Channel I think way back.
BTW, Krishna and Dave were "Turbojugend" guys, got a pretty funny pic of that.
  1:45pm
jonathan:

cecile, 1-2-5 obvs
  1:46pm
Luna:

Loving the XTC...damn, been ages since I've heard them.
  1:47pm
Cecile:

hahahhaha, jonathan.
  1:56pm
Gentleman Jim:

jljl, I'm the former bandmate of Krishna and Dave. Jonathan is the guy on the radio. I've never finished a drink in my life, Jonathan has finished his share, my share, and your share - twice. He's somebody that people pay to write his thoughts, I'm someone who people make up excuses as to why they can't endure listening to my never ending nonsense any longer.

He has a tremendous beard on his chin. I have no beard on any of my five chins.

He's an awesome guitarist and composer, I'm an average guitar tuner and decent long distance driver.

However, we both work cheap. So maybe that's the confusion.

All the best to Boston.
  1:58pm
Jim Devoid:

HOLY CRAP! Gentlemen Jim!!! The Youthbrush!
  2:02pm
jljl:

Gent J, not sure how I seemed confused, I know Jonathan's on the radio but glad to meet you. You seriously never finished a drink? Just like Dave Smalley haha. We may have met at the CY reunion like what, 6 years ago? (My name's Joanie and I'm on WMBR) Have known Krishna for ages and Dave for almost as long but K. has disappeared (big life changes etc). They had a band with two basses a while ago but I'm the only one still rocking. And not drinking much myself. Damn, we've got a fire drill at work, will return.
