How overWeening of you!
  12:16am
Holly in NC:

Hello Joe & Destroit!
Will be quiet, listening on my android Samsung, happily pissing Apple off & still horrid @ texting :-)

Cheese here too! La Serena, Springbrook Tarentaise, Rogue Caveman, oh yeah.

Joe, will you be honoring Neil Armstrong?
  12:16am
anne:

  12:17am
Destroit:

Ha, Good lord that was awful.
  12:18am
Destroit:

Hello holly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18am
Joe McG:

Hey, Holly! Good music for androids right now. No plans to honor Neil--I didn't know he was dead until Blumin said so! Hey, Anne! Anne from Chi-town?
  12:21am
Destroit:

Just to clarify, weening reference=awful. Music is nice so far Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am
Joe McG:

Thanks, Destroit! I know my puns are rotten, but I can't help it!
  12:31am
jeff-m:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am
Joe McG:

Hey, Jeff! Pardon my indecision!
  12:32am
Holly in NC:

Really like this new Limiñanas lp.
  12:36am
Destroit:

Dies anyone else think that the liminanas track sounds like the Beatles "if I needed someone"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am
Joe McG:

I have to hear it again to decide, I think.
  1:05am
Destroit:

This lounge bossanova groove is great, keep Movin'
  1:10am
Matt from Springfield:

All hail those 3 Kings of Terepia!
Hello Joe and everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11am
Joe McG:

Hey, Matt! How do you fare?
  1:11am
KP:

Hey, Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am
Joe McG:

Hey, KP. What ho!
  1:12am
Matt from Springfield:

Fare? No charge!
The Spanish cava I'm sipping tonight is more than fair however!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am
Joe McG:

What's a cava, Matt?
  1:21am
Matt from Springfield:

Spanish "champagne", sparkling wine. Nice, affordable, and if you like champagne really BRUT, this is a good one to have.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23am
Joe McG:

Wow, champagne! Special occasion?
  1:25am
Matt from Springfield:

Naw, just like bubbly! :)
There's another finer champagne I have saved in case of really special occasions.
  1:26am
KP:

Champagne? And me out of diet coke!
  1:30am
Matt from Springfield:

Oooh, hypnotizing vibes in the background!

@KP: Find some more bubbly! Beer is acceptable :)
  1:33am
KP:

Don't want to bum you out but beer was long time ago. Closest thing to it is listening to Joe.
  1:37am
Holly in NC:

I can't believe you have this 7in! How very wonderful!
  1:37am
Matt from Springfield:

Listening to Joe at a steady rate will zone you out more and more with each minute.
  1:38am
Matt from Springfield:

And Johnny Bond continues in full, as promised!

Hello there Holly!
  1:38am
KP:

West-Bryant, unbelievable bubba,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39am
Joe McG:

@Holly: A bit scratched up, unfortunately! @Matt: I still had it in my bag, and I remember you asked!
  1:39am
Holly in NC:

Hi Matt!
  1:41am
Matt from Springfield:

Wooooo! That makes us proud Drunks! :D
Thanks Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am
Joe McG:

You bet, Matt. One for the Elwood P. Dowds.
  1:47am
KP:

Trane!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51am
Joe McG:

Also scratchy, but the horns come through loud and clear!
  1:52am
Matt from Springfield:

Loud and clear! What a theme!
  1:56am
Dean:

Listening in Hong Kong - excellent way to start the day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57am
Joe McG:

Nice! Welcome, Dean!
  1:58am
KP:

Arkade? Any substantive links? for us to find out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59am
Joe McG:

@KP: It's a tough one to research. Just a lot of hits for video games!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00am
Joe McG:

Arkade is probably a Steve Barri concoction: he produced it and cowrote it with Price and Walsh.
  2:00am
KP:

Link to the film "Tender Mercies."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00am
Joe McG:

Oh, and Roger Nichols engineered it with Phil Kaye! Very informative label!
  2:02am
KP:

Oddly enough we were going use "Middle of the Road" but it was taken.
  2:02am
KP:

Oddly enough we were going use "Middle of the Road" but it was taken.
  2:03am
Matt from Springfield:

@Joe: Ask Clay Pigeon about Arkade! I see it's a Dunhill-ABC record, Clay has talked extensively about the style of that label and the bands on it.
  2:10am
KP:

guitar lightning is too much!
  2:11am
Matt from Springfield:

Looking forward to that Radio Free Culture.
  2:11am
Matt from Springfield:

I remember Scott McKenzie. A tribute to his other songs would be fantastic--I haven't heard anything else by him and would like to learn.
  2:15am
KP:

What a great voice.
  2:17am
KP:

There's a young woman singer from UK (via Pakistan, i think) named Rumer. She just put out an album and her cover of this is best thing on it. but all cool. She sounds exactly like Karen Carpenter.
  2:19am
KP:

The arrangements and choice of songs are like the Carpenters too. It's sort of mesmerizing.
  2:20am
Matt from Springfield:

Just "Rumer"? Love Karen and her style of vocals, I need to check Rumer out!
  2:24am
KP:

Recommend very highly. Esp that PF Sloan song.
  2:25am
Matt from Springfield:

Here's another P.F. Sloan, as sung by The Grass Roots, orig established by PF as a vehicle to record and release his songs!

Thanks for the rec, KP.
  2:25am
KP:

OK "PF Sloane" is a song title that is entirely a real person's name. I can only think of "Alex Chilton" as being same way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27am
Joe McG:

There's a fun game: name all of the songs named after rock stars. Me first: "Deborah Harry" by Family Fodder.
  2:30am
Matt from Springfield:

Billy Bragg "Levi Stubb's Tears"
  2:31am
Matt from Springfield:

Weezer "Buddy Holly"
  2:32am
KP:

Right but never heard of that one. i just realized it would have to be be real people in rock. Bob Dylan alone has about 30 civil rights songs with real names as titles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32am
Joe McG:

American Music Club: "Johnny Mathis' Feet."
  2:32am
Matt from Springfield:

@KP: Ballads of, Stories of, Lonesome Deaths of...
  2:33am
KP:

"Buddy Holy" fits, category is just the name.
  2:34am
KP:

Matt, yeah all that cheery stuff.
  2:35am
Marmalade Kitty:

morning Joe, everyone. I kinda recognise that childrens rhyme fromk somewhere..
  2:36am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, is this the duo usually known as Chad & Jeremy??
Never knew they went into Baroque psychedelia in the mid 60s!!
  2:36am
Matt from Springfield:

Hiya Kitty!

You mean the "cabbages and kings" intro? That was from "The Walrus and The Carpenter" by Lewis Carroll!
  2:38am
Marmalade Kitty:

fromk? ..thanks Matt! :)
  2:41am
Matt from Springfield:

Lewis C. was the *original* "Go ask Alice"! :)
Don't know what was going through his mind, or what he was imbibing, but what an early psychedelic satirist and fantasy writer!
  2:48am
KP:

Did you read "Papa john,' that probably has more insight into PF Sloane.
  2:52am
KP:

This is already great.
  2:56am
Holly in NC:

Most excellent. Thanks Joe!
  2:57am
KP:

hmmm unanticipated Phil Schaap turn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57am
Joe McG:

Thanks for listening, everyone! See you next week!
  2:58am
Matt from Springfield:

So tranced-out from this...rude awakening when the show ends!

Thanks Joe for another amazing episode! Have a good night KP, Holly, Kitty and everyone else grooving along to the music!
  2:58am
KP:

Thank you!
  3:00am
Marmalade Kitty:

Thanks Joe! Good night peeps!
