Listener comments!

BadGuyZero [Dallas, TX]:

Good evening/morning to everyone! Interwebs issues at home. Listening via a mobile app. Good times!
  12:10am
northguineahills:

New Cat Power? Interesting. From where do the Allah-Las herald from?
  12:12am
RCinMT:

I support Therese on WFMU! (In spirit!) Love this Kinks cover!

Evening, all! Thanks for stopping by!

northguineahills- The Allah-Las are from Los Angeles
  12:20am
dan in falls church VA:

crazy good tracks 2nite
  12:30am
Pidgeâ„¢:

Crystal Gayle was a major Prell user from what I understand.
  12:47am
Kevin:

First time listening to the show live Therese, although I do miss the sound of Mike cracking open another Coors Light tallboy behind your voice, I always enjoy your music selections.
Avatar 12:56am
Therese:

Thanks, Kevin! I'm sure if you called Mike, he'd come to your place and drink tall boys.
  12:56am

Matt from Springfield:

Nothing succeeds...like THERESE! :D

Love that CC4 premium, love the 60s end to your set!
  12:59am
Kevin:

Thankfully the subject matter of this Lou Christie song was far less disturbing than "Lightnin' Strikes."
  1:01am
Pidgeâ„¢:

Hey! Trapeze! CC4. Thanks for playing that, T. Surprised me. Great show tonight, per uszh. Now, this old man must hit hay hard and calculate sheep totals.
  1:01am
BadGuyZero [Dallas, TX]:

I believe that was part of the International Music Exchange Program. Dusty came to Memphis; Nancy went to London.
  1:06am
Kevin:

And Petula Clark went to Branson, a shame really. At least none of them went Walking In Memphis.
  1:09am
Matt from Springfield:

..After Midnight.

That's some Malibu-destroying fury!
  1:13am
Matt from Springfield:

Awww, sorry to hear that Therese :(
Cheers to those who have it off tomorrow.
  1:14am
Matt from Springfield:

Now this is a :)
I heard this in the remake of "Thomas Crown Affair" with Pierce Brosnan--such a unique, out of my bounds of experience song at the time. I looked it up on IMDB, and first learned about Nina Simone. The rest, is history....
  1:18am
BadGuyZero [Dallas, TX]:

An AT&T tech is supposed to be here between 8am and noon to fix my interwebs. I hope it doesn't turn into an episode of "Seinfeld."
  1:18am
Kevin:

Come for the Rene Russo topless scene, stick around for the Nina Simone soundtrack. Well, that and Denis Leary, art theft detective.
  1:20am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, I forgot Denis Leary was in there too!
Yep Kevin, remakes do have a purpose as long as they have a soundtrack that helps to educate.

Therese:

Pierce Brosnan factoid! Apparently, he was the "deadliest Bond"
  1:25am
Matt from Springfield:

@Therese: I demand a re-count! Daniel Craig was going over his Bond kills on SNL, we need an objective counting of villain and anonymous henchmen deaths per each Bond.

Therese:

Matt- It didn't occur to me to question the source, even though that source escapes me at the moment.

BadGuyZero [Dallas, TX]:

Being limited to a mobile device apparently does not affect my mutant ability to find anything on the interwebs.
  1:35am
Kevin:

I haven't seen any of the Bond movies since I was a kid, but I do remember that two separate Bond's killed bad guys by feeding them to sharks. The Spy Who Loved Me and License To Kill.
  1:38am
Matt from Springfield:

Thanks BGZ!
As we can see, "Sean Connery's You Only Live Twice was the most deadly film: 196 deaths. Compare that to the first film, Dr No with only 12, four of them by Bond. However the deadliest Bond was Pierce Brosnan - he killed 135 people in four films, an average of 33.8 per movie."

I think there were sharks in "Live and Let Die" as well?

I'd be more interested in a debate over who had the more impressive chin dimple, Timothy Dalton or George Lazenby?
  1:41am
Matt from Springfield:

Have a good one, Dan!
  1:42am
Matt from Springfield:

Chin dimple, or...false third nipple (Roger Moore, "The Man With The Golden Gun").
Avatar 1:46am
Therese:

Lazenby wins that one. Kevin.
  1:48am
BadGuyZero [Dallas, TX]:

Dalton was offered the Bond role in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." He turned it down and the part went to Lazenby.

Here's a vote for running boards on cars.....
  1:51am
BadGuyZero [Dallas, TX]:

Suicide doors!
  1:53am

Nothing will ever top Sean Connery's brother Neil's turn as the fake Italian rip-off James Bond.

northguineahills:

Como estas, Richard? How did the vote go?
  1:55am
Kevin:

Rumble seats are long overdue for a comeback.
  1:56am
BadGuyZero [Dallas, TX]:

I enjoyed George Lazenby as John Stamos' dad in "Never Too Young To Die."
  1:57am
Richard from Venezuela:

the vote great. the result: sad.
  1:58am
Richard from Venezuela:

Hi Matt

Kevin:

I have a used copy of James Joyce's Ulysses from the library on base at Ft. Knox. I'm going to guess the soldiers got about as far into the book as I have, the stamped title page.

Still love that Todd Rundgren left The Nazz because he wanted the band to sound more like Laura Nyro. Shame they never collaborated.
  2:16am
Matt from Springfield:

@Kevin: There's definitely a Laura Nyro-like personality in his solo work that her music contributed towards. We can at least thank her for making Todd want to sound "less like the Who, and more like Laura Nyro".

Cool Dreamscape, I think I heard it on FMU recently.
Like an early Cocteau Twins crossed with Look Blue Go Purple.

I must get this Roommates single as well as the Twitch single you played a few songs back.
