It is hard for some black men to shave because they get painful bumps as the hair grows back on their face. It has to do with the hairs being curly and they grow and curl underneath the skin before popping out eventually. My beard hair is curly too and this happens to me as a white boy. But not as bad as black men. I remember this was a problem for a lot of black guys when I was in the army.
