Terre's back! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  3:04pm Doop:

yay!!!
  3:05pm Robert:

Anybody else here taking the Flash stream and hearing a more extreme version of when Diane used to play slow 45s? Started during Belock, I thought it was his doing, like 78s on 33.
  3:08pm Robert:

Well, is anybody hearing the Flash stream normally?
Avatar 3:08pm BadGuyZero:

I've been listening via the 128 mp3 stream. Now listening via the flash player which sounds fine to me. It might be some a weird buffering glitch you're experiencing.
Avatar 3:09pm On the Yazoo:

Radio Boredcast! Radio Boredcast is a 744-hour online radio project that celebrates all things SLOW. And fast too, actually.
Avatar 3:10pm On the Yazoo:

That must be what you got. I got that from the home page
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm eyenoise:

Working on a Saturday, the CBC cranked! Hey Terre have you heard the Milk Music LP?
  3:12pm Mark Watkins:

Hi Terre
Tuned in on-line (Reading, UK)
best
Mark
  3:13pm Robert:

Odd, then, that the label on the Flash window matches Terre's playlist. And the address is given as http://wfmu.org/listen-live/, which is different from the Boredcast's.
  3:14pm Robert:

I'll try switching to the Boredcast and back to see if it matches, but I'm afraid I'll lose it if it's a pleasing artifact!
Avatar 3:16pm On the Yazoo:

I use the 128 mp3 stream
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm efd:

Robert, fwiw I just clicked on the "Flash" link at the top of the home page and I'm hearing the regular WFMU stream.
Avatar 3:19pm Joe non Papa:

Robert - I heard it too, at the beginning of Joe B's show. Sounded like the music was gargling. I'm listening on RealPlayer - I closed and reopened the player and the problem did not repeat.
  3:23pm Nancy G.:

Another fine edition of you, Terre! <3 !
  3:24pm Robert:

At the beginning of Joe B's show I heard what may have been the same as you describe as gargling, but to me it was just intermittent, but close to regular, between a fraction of second of music and silence. But I let it go a long time like that because I was occupied. When I stopped and restarted without closing the window, I got the slow stuff, which was pleasing to me so I let it go, but then thought something funny was up when it extended into Terre's time and the window said it was playing her program. Unfortunately stopping it and starting again while trying to get the Boredcast in another window caused me to lose this in favor of Terre's regular program, which I admit I like, but....
  3:26pm Robert:

I miss slow 45s. I guess I could play some here at home, though, used to do that (and 78s) all the time as a kid, though more often LPs & 45s at 78.
Avatar 3:27pm On the Yazoo:

I've seen stranger things happen with fmu's streams before.
  3:28pm Robert:

Reverse polarity stereo is sometimes fun, but often too subtle for my ear.
  3:31pm Robert:

You know, where A+B is correct as left channel, but you get B-A instead of A-B as right channel, or vice versa.
Avatar 3:31pm fearson:

sweet show as always, terre!

TALL DWARFS
Avatar 3:33pm On the Yazoo:

Robert "Out of phase" Is what you mean.. I think
  3:34pm Robert:

Better, though, is picket fencing as you drive thru an interference pattern, getting peaks & troughs in rapid succession.

Yes, Yazoo, they call it a phase error, but it's not really "out of" phase.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm eyenoise:

Terre is doing another theme set today. The theme is KILLER.
  3:38pm ?:

Did Terre announce any ticket giveaways yet?
Avatar 3:40pm On the Yazoo:

no
  3:40pm Cliff:

She hasn't even been on mic yet! Wait til about 4.
  3:43pm ?:

Thanks, pals!
  3:43pm Robert:

Hey, I just realized what we need are new ways to mess up digital xmission, recording, & playback to make up for the excitement we're losing in analog. Trouble is, it's pretty much all or nothing.
  3:44pm Robert:

Like I have no idea what TV DXing is like these days -- probably dead. WTFDA's got a Web site, but I'm afraid to look.
  3:47pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

I wish I could just flick on the radio & tune into WFMU like the old days, but alas.
  3:48pm Robert:

I gather that WNYZ is still NTSC, but I just listen to the audio on 87.7 or 87.75 MHz, Russian & Indo-Caribbean. Their weekend programming is East Indian West Indian, i.e. for people from the East Indies living in the West Indies.
Avatar 3:50pm Terre T:

hi everyone! going bananas, as usual, here at HQ.
Avatar 3:51pm thermoanaero:

Wow. This could be the best set of music i've ever heard. and i'm pretty old so that's saying a lot.
  3:52pm Robert:

I used to get excited to hear pirates, but then they came on near here to obliterate WFMU reception. :-( First one on 91.1 from approximately the NE corner of Parkchester, then a more continuous one on 91.3 from approximately Burke & Bronxwood Aves.
Avatar 3:55pm Dr. Goot:

Killer Set!
Avatar 3:55pm the glowing one:

Songs getting better and better. Terre, you've skimmed the cream off those compilations.
Avatar 3:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@Robert, I've passed along your stream trouble report.
Avatar 4:00pm Yair Yona:

Great track by Useless Eaters
  4:03pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

I don't always ballyhoo my gigs on WFMU, but tonight I team up with a member of Panther Burns for a night of all '60s garage rock 45s!
Banter, 132 Havemeyer St., Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY.
  4:11pm Robert:

Thanks, Kenzo, but I was curious rather than complaining.
  4:12pm Robert:

Too late to get it into Terre's anmt list, Jumpy?
  4:18pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

I don't know what that means, Robert.
  4:19pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

Maybe I'm on her shit list...
  4:28pm ScottC:

does the Dicks re-issue have "George Jackson" on it. That's a great song and I don't think it has any cuss words.
Avatar 4:34pm BadGuyZero:

"George Jackson" is on the "These People" album [which was also re-issued by Alternative Tentacles].
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Skirkie:

Avatar 4:42pm the glowing one:

WFMU is using Amazon cloud services, and the station now has a social network, euphemistically called the "friendship society" probably to lure more innocent souls in... the end is nigh!
  4:48pm MonkeyBeat:

loving today's show. That Moon Duo song made me see tracers.
Avatar 4:48pm the glowing one:

I must say I prefer the Prunes original
