Mail order catalogs used to be a huge factor in my musical explorations. Some favs were: Eurock, Wayside, ZNR, RRR, AYAA, Recommended, Rec Rec -- the list goes on and on.

I have acquire a recent appreciation for early Cabaret Voltaire, which I previously didn't have.
I dropped in on them around Red Mecca and found their earlier stuff kind of impenetrable but now I think I like it more.

I really like everything by CV up to Arm of the Lord. After that, they sort of lost me, but I do appreciate Richard H. Kirk's solo work, as well as the last few, very techno CV albums, which were essentially RHK solo albums.

didn't like pandora. too much like raising a pet or an infant. i kept having to tell it not to do things. i prefer human djs who can make intuitive leaps between tunes no algorithm can. can pandora play music from the first concert it saw? do a list of celebrity song covers that arent the usual "at their worst" fare? pay tribute to a producer and composer across five different genres like liz did yesterday? no.
