Banana Splits theme song... jazz version?
  9:03pm UPGOSHOW:

Just as lifelong performer Tjader was born on tour, he also died on tour. On the road with his band in Manila, he collapsed from a heart attack and died on 5 May 1982.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm cosmic matrix:

hey DAVE!! one of your turntables (at least) seems to be WOO-ing or whatever it's called. BASS feedback. i can move around the room and hear it in nodes, just like an exercise we did in audio school! and now my sphincter is loose.
Avatar 9:18pm Sean B.:

Surprises are nice when they are nice...lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm Greg from Bloomfield:

I like that picture cuz it's like a bunch of Hydro-Vipers formed a surf rock band in their down time from Cobra...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm cosmic matrix:

and great show!!
Avatar 9:49pm ken in denver:

The tuffest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm pacific standard simon:

uuHwhuuU.... made it back. Don't know if I should switch to the Giants game in a bit. Being a Giants fan makes me feel like Dr. Smith: "Oh, the pain -- the pain!"
Avatar 9:52pm Sean B.:

This song is pure fun....yes.
Avatar 9:55pm cbk:

Thanks Dave, for playing Rocket To The Moon. It's a favorite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm pacific standard simon:

So if I give WFMU more munny, I can get MORE Spazz Tshirts!?
Avatar 10:05pm Sean B.:

1969 was a strange year. Was 0 years old until Feb. of that year...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm pacific standard simon:

I was 13 and about to hit puberty HARD.
Avatar 10:07pm Sean B.:

Born slightly during a Blizzard of that year, anyone remember that?....I call you out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm pacific standard simon:

No blizzards in LA -- except Dairy Queen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm Uncle Michael:

huzzah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm pacific standard simon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar 10:10pm cbk:

Blizzard of 67 here in NJ for me....
Avatar 10:11pm Sean B.:

Simon so you grew up in the late 50's - Mainly 60's?,seething jealousy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Uncle Michael:

So, Simon...the new job...is it cool?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm pacific standard simon:

It looks good -- regular hours, decent boss, 15 minute walk to work. All baking, no foolishness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Uncle Michael:

Excellent. Glad you found a good one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm pacific standard simon:

Sean, I don't think there's much to envy about growing up poor in the 60s. I spent my adolescence worrying about being drafted and sent to Vietnam. Then they called that shit off and I thought, "What NOW?"
Avatar 10:22pm Sean B.:

ohhh, I hear that,Simon.I just would like to have been a child and be surrounded by all that great music....;But the 70's were great music wise, also.
Avatar 10:24pm Sean B.:

Thanks to THE WHO, for me.78 it was over....
Avatar 10:27pm Sean B.:

Shit that's why we are here- The Music- THAT ties us together in some way or another.
Avatar 10:28pm Sean B.:

ok....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm pacific standard simon:

This James Booker info is a revelation to me -- I've heard the music for years, but never knew just how different he was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm Greg from Bloomfield:

So bummed I'm gonna miss this on Sunday! But I guess Mission Of Burma at Maxwell's will be pretty good too...
Avatar 10:38pm Sean B.:

Burma Rules OK? True again 'till this day Greg.; I saw them 3 times=Avalon 2004,Lowell w/Pixies and once in 2010.They are great live.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm Greg from Bloomfield:

I haven't seen them since '04-ish, but I can't wait to see them at Maxwell's. It *may* be my last time there if I can't make the block party.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm Uncle Michael:

This is a pretty amazing Tico.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm pacific standard simon:

Aaaahhh... thank heaven. I forgot that this is an off night for the Giants; I can stay here for 75 more minutes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm pacific standard simon:

It is!
Avatar 10:46pm Fernando M Pacheco:

É tico tico no fubá.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm pacific standard simon:

"Go away, silly bird!"
Avatar 10:47pm Sean B.:

Avatar 10:52pm Sean B.:

Sorry Greg-----Spacing;Wishing YOU a great time...I am still listening to Dave's show WITH the other 3 quarters of my brain.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm pacific standard simon:

I made a cuckoo-themed CD for my wife's birthday (she has a thing for cuckoo clocks), but she didn't like it because it was too weird.
Avatar 10:56pm Sean B.:

typing with one finger and thinking about cuckoo bird cd's all at once! now...lol
Avatar 11:00pm Sean B.:

That's a nice gesture man. What did you put on it?....Shit, birds creep me out more than music.lol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm Greg from Bloomfield:

I got "Cuckoo" by The Monks..."Absolutely Cuckoo" by Magnetic Fields...and I think that's it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm pacific standard simon:

Tico tico in English... Beach Boys... Johnny Mercer... Rachel Sweet... The Laurel & Hardy Theme... Just a whole bunch of stuff about cuckoos. Yeah, Greg, that stuff too. And sound effects.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Holy CRAP. This is now a front runner for the music for my animation reel...
Avatar 11:06pm Sean B.:

That sounds cool.I actually like birds but Parrots and people who love and own them...I dunno.lol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Agreed about parrots. Up close their talons are terrifying and their black tongues are creepy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm pacific standard simon:

"There Stands The Glass" sounds like a Zen contemplation thing. There stands the glass. Yes, yes it does.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm pacific standard simon:

It was full, and now it is not!
Avatar 11:10pm Sean B.:

And they are always talking to YOU when you don't want them to.And they will peck your eyes out if you let them know it!.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm pacific standard simon:

Spread some peanut butter on my hot pastrami!
Avatar 11:19pm Sean B.:

My Dad had this Parrot;Well the thing met it's demise somehow...;I hated the thing. It got out of it's cage about 3 months ago and my 5 year old niece brought it to my Mom wrapped up and was crying.OK...True That.My mom thinks she had something to do with it...somehow...i dunno.
Avatar 11:28pm Sean B.:

I would hope in a court of Law a 5 year old would have the right to defend his/herself against an evil parrot!.lol;Luckily for the Kid and everyone nothing was discussed of the matter....;Grammy made sure of that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28pm pacific standard simon:

do the walk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm Greg from Bloomfield:

YES. Fuck off. Doin' The Walk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm pacific standard simon:

The Hackamore Brick was nice -- like The Flamin' Groovies if they'd broken up before Teenage Head.
Avatar 11:42pm Sean B.:

The guitars in this song sound so great.Somebody knew how to place a mike.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm pacific standard simon:

**UUUuuurrrRRRPPP**
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm pacific standard simon:

See. Sean, that's what I had to listen to in the 60s -- a cardboard record stuck in a MAD Magazine annual!
Avatar 11:51pm Sean B.:

I remember them. they had those in the lste 70' also
Avatar 11:56pm Sean B.:

The greatest=Fats
Avatar 11:57pm Sean B.:

Thanx Dave!
