Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from September 20, 2013 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

I think the accents were recorded voices, that were then transformed for age/gender and some cartoonish effects. These transformations are what my boss does (I'm just technical help, not a researcher)

Geddy's is a seafood/bar place on the main strip in Bar Harbor: a bit of a tourist place (like much in BH) but they had the Cadillac Mtn. Stout on tap when I used to live in Bangor, several years ago. Worth it for the stout. It's effing brilliant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm
stefica:

Ike, my recommendation is take more than a few days! Also, stay out of Bar Harbor (shudder). Acadia is wonderful and has great phone and internet access up on the Mt. Pemetic (weird). You should spend at least a week in Nova Scotia alone.

Avatar 1:37pm
Ike:

Stef, wish I could get more than a week off for this. Grrrrr. At least I'm flying back from Halifax (relatives have more time off & will drive car back) so the back end of the week will be maximized.

Is there a lot of cool stuff in Halifax?

Avatar 1:42pm
Ike:

Sem, thanks! Any particularly good restaurants that don't cost an arm and 3 legs? Also I love hiking, but I'm w/relatives so really long hikes are nixed. We will prob. have more hiking options than we know what to do with.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm
Sem Chumbo:

Wooden Monkey downtown has a good vegetarian rep. Big fave for college students, five universities in the City, so there's that. Too bad about no long hikes, otherwise the ~1,75 hour to Cape Split would be a natural (wonder)...Google images for CAPE SPLIT TRAIL.

dunno about halifax. i drove the other direction around the lower island and into cape breton and even foolishly thought i had time to see newfoundland (didn't!) and by the time i got to halifax, i was not interested in being in a town. i stopped long enough to find a good bookstore and buy a good book. (The Diviners, Margaret Laurence).

Heh, RTD@1:30, w.p., awful name for a foodstuff. Sounds like donkey butt. I hear 1 or 2 bakeries have nice, light, airy ones, but I'm not going outta my way. Also, 1 of my relatives might love that stout. Noted, thx.
Avatar 2:00pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

cool... I'd never really suggest that anyone venture into Bar Harbor, esp. during cruise-ship season, but if you happen to be there anyway (or whoever would dig the stout), etc. My favorite things about Maine were the total nowhere small towns, off-season. .
Avatar 2:01pm

Cool. I'm guessing late Sept. is off season, right? Too early for leaf peepers, surely.

fresh ghost pepper was made into chili, it wasn' that hot! I've been cooking with yellow cayenne and habs lately, but for some reason the leftover food is never that hot a day later. that's where ghostpepper powder comes back into play.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm
tim from champaign:

Was it a dud? That's weird that the heat mellows in the leftovers.
Avatar 2:36pm
northguineahills:

Well, there must be a glitch in the matrix, Cheri Pi, or as tim said, it was a dud. Just put some ghost pepper sauce on my pizza before bed, and whoah... ganesh, that was a lot of fun (kept me up later then I expected.)

Since we're on the subject of beersies now, I've got a sixer of Bell's Best Brown in the fridge. Best Brown is my favorite Bell's flagship beers. I was gonna save it for tomorrow but I think I'll bust into after work.
Avatar 2:44pm
Cheri Pi:

My work husband has this theory that one ghost pepper is equal to 3 habaneros, so in a big pot of chili it got absorbed into too many chunks of veg, etc. probably could have used 3 ghosties.
