@ljfw: Good call. I saw the ep -- my son went on a marathon Parks & Rec binge over the summer -- but guess I never see Castellaneta enough IRL (on TV).
So here I am drinking a very excellent beer and I'm thinking this beer is so good.... then I realise its that music on the radio which is making it so good!
Just ordered Lady Chatterley's Lover from the library. Thought it was about time I read it. They had the guy who defended Penguin Books in their court case in 1960 on Desert Islands Discs yesterday. He is 99.
@Brian: unaware there is/was another! This Last Exit is the sort-of-supergroup: Peter Brotzmann, Bill Laswell, Sonny Sharrock, & Ronald Shannon Jackson.
@Stanley: titles are from Kenneth Patchen -- I had forgotten that.
GIVE THE DRUMMER RADIO SILENT FUNDRAISER ALERT...
Today's D:O Radio show is your second to last chance to pledge to WFMU in honor of this amazing program. Help the blokes from D:OR reach their goal by making a small and lovely pledge. They are only $55 away from reaching 50% of the goal, and $180 away from squishing the goal like a bug!
@Brian - I was just thinking about Back Door. Thought something off the first album would've made a nice segue with OC and JBU.
From Yorkshire, by the way.
*** PLEDGE ALERT ***
Giant thanks to Brian in Watford (UK) for reaching across the pond to contribute mightily to the communal venture known as Give the Drummer Radio. THANKS SO MUCH, BRIAN!
*** PLEDGE ALERT ***
Huge thanks to Stanley in Edinburgh (UK) for a wonderful pledge! Just for that, Stanley, some early Ra coming up! Three cheers for Stanley, and the UK!
Tell you what Jeff going back to the Matching Tie. The library that I ordered Lady C from earlier is the Watford Public Library as mentioned by John Cleese in that sketch. Round we go.
Sun Ra had a singles collection out a few years ago?

YES, The Singles came out several years back. The first tune I talk over most shows -- "The Perfect Man" -- comes from that collection!
