Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from November 22, 2013 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Does anyone/everyone else still get the cutting-in-and-thing at everey Drummer stream handoff? Depending on what's playing and how loudly and how far away from the computer I am, the player re-start can get pretty damn urgent.
I tell ya, though, the intermittent Hinky Dinky shopper theme is a good element in an audio mix for a scene with someone going mad....MAD!

Whoa Charles Guiteau shout out

I get the cutting in and out thing at every handoff on any stream other than the main one. Just restarting the player works.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm

@still b/p
The pop-up player still hiccups between shows. A quick re-start fixes it. Hopefully that won't be necessary much longer.

I always get the cutting-in-and-out thing when stream handoff occurs, and it gets fixed by clicking the pasue button, and clicking the playbutton again. so now I do that by habit. AS soon as Doug signs off, and I hear the first stopage, I click pause and then paly.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
Doug Schulkind:

I blogged about that "Mr. K. and Mr. D" song (blog.wfmu.org...) and a commenter suggested that "Mr. K." could actually be Khrushchev. Certainly possible, but there was a bevy of countryish religious tunes recorded during the '60s the criticized the U.S. space program as "unChristian" and against the Bible. I took the song in that light as an attack on (the Catholic) Kennedy's race to the moon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm

The comment is wrong. The references about the space program make that clear.

Yes, absolutely! In fact, when I was working for Steinski, Monica used to come over to his studio and hang. Steinski was still producing his Rough Mix show for WFMU at the time. Steinski and I encouraged Monica to come down to the station and get involved—and boy has she.
