It's not "slipping away" as fast as it seems, despite all the Netflix hype, and when it does, cable companies will just jack up their Internet access prices to compensate for loss of video profits. We're lucky in NJ to have relatively good Fios distribution to add some competition.

	11:44am Ike: Dale, in some areas, DSL might not be good enough for Roku. My folks in rural MD used to get ~750k. Recently the speed has increased considerably. If it collapses back to 750k, will the Roku work? Can it sit and buffer for a while and then be watchable using very slow speeds?
	11:48am Trouble: dj icepack is working hard on honing his christmas list, changing it everyday! doesn't he know that elves need a year to make that stuff?? he might come along, depends how many candy canes i have in my bag...

	11:51am dale: i don't know what our speed is but the roku works fine over dsl. the roku will adjust resolution based on the traffic on your line. sometimes it's 1080 and sometimes it looks like a vhs but it usually catches up to itself.

It's not "slipping away" as fast as it seems, despite all the Netflix hype, and when it does, cable companies will just jack up their Internet access prices to compensate for loss of video profits. We're lucky in NJ to have relatively good Fios distribution to add some competition.

	11:44am Ike: Dale, in some areas, DSL might not be good enough for Roku. My folks in rural MD used to get ~750k. Recently the speed has increased considerably. If it collapses back to 750k, will the Roku work? Can it sit and buffer for a while and then be watchable using very slow speeds?

	11:51am dale: i don't know what our speed is but the roku works fine over dsl. the roku will adjust resolution based on the traffic on your line. sometimes it's 1080 and sometimes it looks like a vhs but it usually catches up to itself.
