Patiently awaiting rhinos and forks.

Heya Carmichael! Today only it'll be hippos and spoons.

@Carmichael
I think you may find an altogether different animal in the lead-off spot. (I am sworn to secrecy.)

Hey Tony. Trouble just threw down the gauntlet for ridiculous lyrics today with some Brett Smiley. I'm wondering if you can beat that.

Hello Tony, you capycat you!

Bonjour, Pierre. Yes, indeed, RIP Gary Burger.

Hola hey ho, Gary and still b/p!

No spoon-playing hippos, no -- but they will be tap-dancing.

Not more than 15 minutes ago I was thinking about Esquivel. I turn on the GTDS stream and what do I hear? Get out of my head, Tony!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm
Jeff Golick:

Hey, Tony. Love that the Rascal Reporters have come back from the future to say goodbye to TEAC. (Check year of release.)
Avatar 12:13pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey MrFab & Jeff!

That Rascal Reporters track is probably from the late '70s/early '80s, but was unreleased until now.

Non Credo was a great, really underrated band.
Avatar 12:15pm
Tony Coulter:

oops-- now I get you, Jeff!
Avatar 12:18pm

Hey Rich! I know you played Non Credo on a fill-in you did for me. Was that maybe the very cut you played?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm

Maybe. I think that album. That's one of my faves..
I think they're still active...?

So, I've been off coffee for a week. Right now I'm getting a powerful urge to swig some down -- but I shall resist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
Jeff Golick:

Why no coffee, Tony??!! It's my sole remaining vice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
Gary:

Why have you been off coffee?
Avatar 12:31pm
Tony Coulter:

Probably not a permanent abstention. Had a nasty case of food poisoning a week ago, so had to swear off just about everything. Kind of liked breaking the coffee dependence cycle, at least temporarily. Makes me feel master of my destiny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
Rich in Washington:

Yikes! Where'd you get food poisoning at?
Avatar 12:33pm
Tony Coulter:

Haven't been able to pinpoint it for sure, tho I have my suspicions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm
Gary:

Ah, I remember hearing you'd gotten food poisoning. Back when I used to smoke, I would quit every time I had a serious illness -- maybe once every two or three years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm

It's nice to kick off of drugs once in a while. The make-up high is really good.

Tony, my avatar was the culprit for me this weekend. I'm giving it a public flogging today as part of its penance.

Bowie's music went downhill when he abandoned all the critter references...

I used to be able to eat absolutely anything w/o repercussions until I got a severe stomach bug when I was 16. It took me a year to just to eat complex carbohydrates w/o getting sick. Today, I can't eat anything too sweet and am now lactose intolerant. (at least I can eat chilies).

Avatar 12:57pm

Heya Dean! I'm trying to track down the expanded version that came out a couple of years ago -- has a bunch of bonus tracks.
  12:57pm
Dean:

I believe the band is Uriel, though.
  12:58pm
Dean:

Yeesh! I have two copies of the reissued CD. This is a frequent problem for me: I buy dupes, particularly when recordings are repackaged. But I don't believe either disk goes beyond the original. Must find the bonus version!
Avatar 12:59pm
Tony Coulter:

Yep, you're right. For contractual reasons the album was released under a made-up band name, and with ridiculous pseudonyms for the musicians.

Who gave Ringo Starr a prog band to sing for?
