Hiya!
  3:11pm Cliff:

"Shitey" is the perfect word to describe this winter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm MattBelow:

Hey-o Terre and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Guido from Cologne:

"I Live In The Springtime" sounds like the track I know from some early pebbles volume without drums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Guido from Cologne:

Hello all!
  3:16pm Tom:

I (we) love you Terre, but your air-check is too freakin' long! 12 minutes where at least 10 minutes of that we could be listening to your DJing of tunage!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Stevel:

Free and open to hear the whole show today after a weirdly-busy week.

Huzzah! or, FUCK yeah! (as you prefer).
Avatar 3:22pm Whooda:

Native Americans had that 'rain dance' thing down pat but forgot to teach us the 'spring dance'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Alex of Chicago:

The opening song cleanses the palate before the onslaught of savory 1-2 minute long rock portions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm CZECHANO:

Hola y'all- finally over my SXSW hang over
Avatar 3:27pm Whooda:

It also probably gives DJ Terri T a chance to get squared away and buckled up for the ride herself.
Avatar 3:28pm Whooda:

@CZECHANO glad to see you made it home alive, if not exactly feeling like a spring chicken. What's your favorite memory of the mayhem in Austin town?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm CZECHANO:

what memeory?
Avatar 3:29pm Whooda:

:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm CZECHANO:

Well i made it to Beerland in time for the last WFMU set, and then sauntered down to South Austin to see some Houston rokers Poor Dumb Bastards and then down to San Marcos to catch Hickoids, Grannies, and the Beaumonts
  3:32pm Tom:

OK Alex..you are correct...but really could be half as long yet still leave me with that minty freshness that I need for the remainder of the best show (trademark) on WFMU
Avatar 3:35pm Whooda:

@Chenchano Poor Dumb Bastards, Hickoids, Grannies, Beaumonts....is that the poor side of Austin or are those band names? ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm CZECHANO:

Meeting Liz Berg and Brian Turner was pretty cool. I tried to stay sober as long as possible to make a good impression on the nice WFMU folks, and then after the WFMU Showcase, the real rock and roll debauchery began
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm CZECHANO:

it's the pour side of austin
Avatar 3:38pm Whooda:

haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm CZECHANO:

whooda, check out later www.hickoids.com just inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame, lead singer Jeff Smith has a nice little label called Saustex in San Antonio.
Avatar 3:44pm Whooda:

Thanks for the link Caechano, will definitely check it out. Growing up in Norman, OK, I lost a few musician friends to Austin as they sought their fame and fortune there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm CZECHANO:

That's exactly like San Antonio- Doug Sahm, Butthole Surfers- all end up in Austin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm CZECHANO:

At least Wayne Coyne stayed in OKC
Avatar 3:50pm Whooda:

Dumb bastard. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Stevel:

"Do Anything You Want To Do" is such a great, angsty, punk rock anthem.

Guessing Eddie and the Hot Rods had few if any NYC influences. They walked right up to the edge of Punk.
  3:54pm Dean:

E&tHR were a proto-punk pub band before they went big. Even then they gave rock tradition its due. Their first album features Bob Seger's "Get Out of Denver." They added a power pop feel when Graeme Douglas of Kursaal Flyers joined the band. "Do Anything You Wanna Do" is the perfect melding of it all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm CZECHANO:

I like Eddie and The Hot Rods, they fall into that "bands that look punk" category, but boy was their Hollywood movie way off the mark- there's no way those guys were from Jersey.
Avatar 3:56pm Whooda:

@Czehano I'm impressed, it looks like Molly Cyrus can roll a joint freestyle. Nice!

  3:57pm Nate K:

Sounds great Terre. We're rocking out, loved the Rites of Spring from earlier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm CZECHANO:

she ain't that cool if she wears a shirt with a pic of her own face on it, or is that Pink?
Avatar 4:02pm Whooda:

I think it's her face but she turned it around backward away from her audience, probably realized it was a snot looking thing to wear.
Avatar 4:05pm Whooda:

Loving the show DJ Terre T. Who needs spring anyway with this to distract us?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm CZECHANO:

Argy Bargy Oi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Stevel:

Banshees cut was mindbending. Sounded like they were using strings, not gee-tars.

Avatar 4:14pm BadGuyZero:

I don't think you're wonderful, Terre. I KNOW you're wonderful!
  4:24pm Dave in Vermont:

Oh my god, your show is so good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm fred:

@BGZ: that's the truth. Terre's was my gateway show to WFMU. Do I blame her for my post-marathon ramen diet? No, I thank her
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Guido from Cologne:

Peanut Butter Conspiracy Song
  4:29pm Cliff:

Love Exchange - I love this song! First heard it on a fill-in from DA the DJ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Guido from Cologne:

"Swallow the Sun" is called "Dark on You Now" on 1st P.B.C. LP, now I got it.
  4:41pm Alex of Chicago:

Trollollollo...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Mike East:

huhuhuh...boob
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm Mike East:

Mike East apologizes for that comment
  4:46pm Stu:

Terre - You should have called me. I would've come down & helped out. Great show today (AP or no AP)!
  4:55pm Sweatpants:

a giant dog is my favorite. now your show is my favorite. welcome to my radio! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm fred:

@Mike East: your birthday is around now if I remember well. Celebrating that is a worthy excuse
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm Stevel:

Mike East: No apologies accepted or, rather, expected of men.
Avatar 5:05pm Joe B:

Guido, re: I live in the Springtime ... the version without drums appeared on the 1998 Rhino Nuggets box, they used the wrong master or tape box. So that version is out there now. Not sure what TT's source was from today but that is when that version surfaced
Avatar 5:06pm Joe B:

anyone complaining about too long of a mic break, please speak for yourself, lose the 'we'.
Avatar 5:07pm BadGuyZero:

Alternate between The Move and Cock Sparrer.
  5:07pm Cliff:

I always enjoy the confrontational mic breaks between Terre T and Mike Sin
Avatar 5:08pm Mailman Tom:

My vote goes to Cock Sparrer for the new theme song!
Avatar 5:09pm Joe B:

eddie and the hot rods predate punk so I'm sure they weren't too worried about their 'punk look'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Mike East:

yes, fred, Monday. Thanks. I wonder if my wife knows I'm out of scotch :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Guido from Cologne:

@Joe Belock
THANKS a lot FOR THE INFO!
Joe actually knows the details, incredible!
Avatar 5:10pm BadGuyZero:

Go, Terre! Go!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm fred:

@Mike East: you could "forget" to close your browser while on a suitable site
Avatar 5:16pm Joe B:

I was almost right on the Lemon Drops. According to the great Mike Markesich, both versions came out in 1967 on 45, with the label quickly realizing they made a mistake and issuing the other version. There is no way to tell by the label or deadwax, you have to play it to see which version it is. But I was sort of right in that the Nuggets box mistakenly used the drumless version and hence put it back into circulation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Guido from Cologne:

So the drumless version is the more collectable I guess. Anyway it's good to have both.
  5:24pm Stu:

The right channel just went out.

Avatar 5:25pm BadGuyZero:

Turntable 3?
  5:25pm mike east:

It worked once fred
Avatar 5:27pm Mike Sin:

Is right channel back now?
Avatar 5:29pm Terre T:

OK -- we're "killing" turntable 3 after this one. Hold tight, folks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Guido from Cologne:

Channel still mkissing.
Some open connection noise.
Avatar 5:29pm Joe B:

right channel still out on the webcast
  5:30pm Stu:

It came back and went out again with the next song. The problem seems to be with one of the turntables or cd players.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Guido from Cologne:

It must be a cable or the mixing desk, sound like that.
Avatar 5:30pm Joe B:

it's back now for the replacements.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Guido from Cologne:

Coming back but not stable.
Avatar 5:31pm BadGuyZero:

Turntable 3 likes to make special left-channel-only mixes. CD player 2 creates impromptu remixes if you play a CD-R in it.
Avatar 5:32pm BadGuyZero:

Now where's the squeaky chair?
Avatar 5:45pm On the Yazoo:

Hey all, and Terre. I've enjoyed the show..I've got it blasting my back yard while I do yardwork. back to work
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Stevel:

Great show. Its all about the music, with just a touch of techno drama!

I'd say some of the strongest shows and sets on WFMU seem to come after the marathon. Or am I high?
Avatar 5:48pm Whooda:

Outside? Doing yard work?!? Ok Yazoo, that's just rubbing salt into our snow covered freezing upstate NY wound.:)
Avatar 🍒 5:57pm David Shortell:

Reading the Truth CD's liner notes, I learned that "Beck's Bolero" was actually recorded a couple of years before the rest of the album --when Beck was still in the Yardbirds!
Also playing on that track: Nicky Hopkins, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Keith Moon (that's Moon screaming in the middle section).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Guido from Cologne:

Nicky Hopkins was easy to identify.
But the rest odf the lineup looks like the Jimi Page#s prospected supergroup about which Keith Moon said they would go down like a Zeppelin made of lead?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm CZECHANO:

and i thought joe b would like my eddie and the cruisers joke just the facts man
Avatar 6:19pm Joe B:

yeah sorry missed it
