Ketchup is gross. Way too sweet. I much prefer tqemali. (No, I am not trying to be deliberately obscure. That's a real thing. It's tasty.)
Avatar 3:56pm
Cecile:

I can do German curry ketchup on a hotdog. It's quite yummy.

And I use it as a component in sloppy joes and BBQ sauce. But that's about it.

sriracha in place of ketchup in all circumstances, unless some kind of curry/vindaloo sauce is readily available.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm
DCE:

my wife gives me a hard time for putting hot sauce on everything, but it's hot sauce for christ's sake. you can't NOT put it on.
Avatar 🧩 4:04pm
Ike:

Sriracha is more sweet than it seems at first. Nice sweet/spicy balance but kind of deceptive. No wonder it's caught on here in the land of sugar. I like it anyway, but I try to mix it w/other, less sweet things.
Avatar 4:06pm
Cecile:

I just cannot do heat the way i used to.
Avatar 4:07pm
northguineahills:

Sriracha is also too sweet for me. However, there are other rooster chili sauces out there that use less sugar I enjoy.
Avatar 🧩 4:07pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Ike: I tend to mix it with a particular sambal (not Huy Fong's, can't remember the name) -- takes a bit of the sweet edge off the sriracha, adds texture. ... getting hungry. . .
  4:07pm
?:

Tabasco + ketchup. Takes the edge off the ketchup...
All this talk making me want french fries...
Avatar 4:10pm
dc pat:

yeah it's sweet. I mix with hummus, gomasio, nutritional yeast for SUPER hummus dip.

Avatar 4:17pm
northguineahills:

Actually, Trader Joe's Habanero sauce was spicier then I'd anticipate for a grocery store hot sauce.
Avatar 🧩 4:17pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

the best "food lubricant" i've ever had is the chili sauce/sambal-like stuff at the local Malaysian restaurant. It's hot enough to be serious, but not goofy-macho-extremism. Perfect balance, the stuff is GOD GOO.
Avatar 4:18pm
Cecile:

I like Crystal hot sauce from Jamaica. It's like Tabasco, if Tabasco were made with sugar-cane vinegar. And hotter.
Avatar 4:18pm

Not Crystal! Jeez. Grace hot sauce - that's the stuff from Jamaica.
