Heh! Thought of Amanda when I saw the header graphic! Morning, Gary and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42am
Gary:

Although I'm pretty sure I've seen as much of the Simpson's as the next guy or gal, James, my memory is not as good as Amanda's and I could never pull one of those episode recalls off!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44am
Gary:

Did I really just put an apostrophe in the Simpsons? *Sigh*

Gary, how's your back?????
Avatar 9:53am
still b/p:

The fifteen minutes I've caught so far have been first-chop.

I like the graphic element a'peekin' into the comment space. By itself, the gray disc could be anything -- it's that ol' bevel moon.

My bureau looks like it was in a fight, with almost all the cheap rails having failed. And I'm sure that's how it'd look if I'd assembled it myself. It remains an NIY item....Neglect It Yourself.

Hola Lewis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am
listener james from westwood:

I always imagine FMU DJs are a diffuse quantum blur of song-picking and playlist-polishing in the hours preceding their radio shows, only collapsing into a specific waveform when the ON AIR light goes on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am
listener james from westwood:

Stirring stuff thus far at the halfway mark, Gary!
Avatar 10:26am
Lewis:

@Uncle Micheal - finally tracked down "Masterpiece" and my local independent used vinyl outlet (Hymies for those of you in Mpls) and gave it a listen last night. Really liked it! Thanks ($3! disk VG, Cover G-)
Avatar 10:27am
Lewis:

In that same visit I got a Don Johnson album for $0.00 - hard to tell who was the winner on that deal
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am
Gary:

I remember Hymies, I think -- I used to live in MPLS
Avatar 10:32am
Lewis:

Hymies has been around a while apparently (I am fairly new here) very good curation and excellent quality records. On record store day they put out the dreck for free. and being the bottom feeder that I am, I clean up! (Lion in Winter soundtrack in VG)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am
Uncle Michael:

I'm glad you like that record, Lewis.

James, I find I'm much more relaxed if I have the show together WELL before Friday, noon...as in days before. Not that I won't call multiple audibles after I have it organized....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am
Gary:

I lived in the Twin Cities from 1991-1997, when I moved here. Moved there from San Francisco. Culture shock! (To say nothing of weather shock)
Avatar 10:34am
Lewis:

the weather shock is strong! I find last winter still lurks in my brain like a low level fear even as the summer is spectacular!
Avatar 10:35am

Dang. I missed Akiko Yano? I missed Akiko Yano. Dang.

hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36am
Gary:

Howdy, Van!
Avatar 10:36am
ndbob:

The culture shock when I moved to North Dakota was about what I expected - nothing much to do there - and the weather shock was mostly the length rather then the depth of the winter. Definitely the only time I looked to the Twin Cities as a warmer place:)
Avatar 10:38am
Lewis:

@ndbob - hate to say it, but I did feel better about things here when I thought about things in your neck of the woods. but now you are somewhere else I think (Illinois?)
Avatar 10:40am
ndbob:

Bloomington, Indiana.. much warmer:) - i would have been pretty stressed by the past winter here, if not for having come from North Dakota
Avatar 10:41am

the Kims in Columbia neighborhood was gone when I was last there - but yeah very good curation.
