@JakeGould I tried to find shelter in the East Bay and they followed me...like a mold. The funny thing is they are so smug and I think to myself "just wait until they send your irrelevant little time-slot-filling job to Mumbai and see how you survive. Me? downsized 7years ago - self-employed now I'm doing OK living by my wits!

I feel fairly safe now in Bay Ridge. I have a feeling I might be the first of many gentrifiers in the future. But that is a long way off. The 2-3 block area around my place is Hookah bar & laundromat city. And that is not changing any time soon. Some comfort in that.

The first Soup Dragons thing I heard was a compilation of their singles called "Hang Ten" that Sire released in the U.S. around 1987/88. Those songs are so good. They reminded me of The Buzzcocks so I was hooked right away.

Therese, I have vivid memories of driving down the BQE with friends heading to South Street Seaport, gal wants to play “Jesus Jones” and I am just saying, “Get this off!” and her saying, “Why do you hate them?
