Here's the Wiki on it: Za Bakdaz : The Unfinished Opera is a collection of songs German countertenor Klaus Nomi was working on up until his death in 1983 from AIDS, a disease poorly understood at that time.[3] The album was released posthumously in 2007. The large majority of the tracks have never before been heard on an official studio release. Some of those involved with the project hint that the album was nowhere near completed at the time of Klaus' passing

I DO think it's an interesting topic and a great jumping off point to provide some insight into the underground metal scene that was pervasive on the East Coast circa the 80s. I never participated but those clubs were all over the place back then.

I showed the movie to Andy Schwartz who used to be the editor of the NY Rocker who sort of used to look at me cross-eyed when I would talk to him about the movie and then he said it was "An absorbing, even fascinating film that takes as its subject a band I never gave a hoot about. Illuminates a previously unexamined corner of R&R history, the hugely popular NY/NJ suburban cover-band scene of the Seventies." Whodathunkit?!

Here's the Wiki on it: Za Bakdaz : The Unfinished Opera is a collection of songs German countertenor Klaus Nomi was working on up until his death in 1983 from AIDS, a disease poorly understood at that time.[3] The album was released posthumously in 2007. The large majority of the tracks have never before been heard on an official studio release. I showed the movie to Andy Schwartz who used to be the editor of the NY Rocker who sort of used to look at me cross-eyed when I would talk to him about the movie and then he said it was "An absorbing, even fascinating film that takes as its subject a band I never gave a hoot about. Illuminates a previously unexamined corner of R&R history, the hugely popular NY/NJ suburban cover-band scene of the Seventies." Whodathunkit?!
