I'll never forget that Wanda Jackson show at Maxwell's. The way the band was hanging' out on the sidewalk in lawn chairs (Heath Haynes & the Hi-Dollars). And the way Wanda's husband paid them in cash, on stage, while they were still playing! Crazy night.

was also the anniversary of the assassination of Malcomb X.
