	10:02am Cecile: Yes, common. It was on Tuesday. I cried the first time I watched it, and then the next day when I watched it again. It was not the first time I cried this season. This whole season is excellent but somewhat bittersweet.

	10:02am Cecile: The whole cast were on Seth Myers afterward. I'd try to bookmark that, and then watch it after you finally see Season 7. It's pretty hilarious.

	10:04am Uncle Michael: It does. The Meters was 4 years earlier. But it gets interesting because I once saw Cyril Neville with Galactic an Trombone Shorty and they opened with the Ripple track...which is based on the Meters track...written by Cyril's brother and two others.

	10:15am Claw!: I don't compare them to their father. Objectively, they aren't very talented. Of course, that's just my opinion. I'm kinda "whatever" on the Beatles, honestly. I like em ok, but I don't fawn over them like most folks seem to.
	10:17am Cecile: As I learn more about the eras before and after, I do see the Beatles place in history being bigger than I used to think. I like them more than I used to. But I never really liked Sgt Pepper's.

	10:18am the Canterbury wood-elf: Some friends of mine supported Sean Lennon's band The GOASTT last year, so I went along to see them. They rocked. It was cool. Encored with Syd Barrett's "Long Gone". And I had no particular attachment to his family lineage. A pleasant surprise. (I haven't tracked down their records or anything, but a great live experience.)

	10:20am Claw!: See, I like Sgt Pepper's and Magical Mystery Tour the best, I think. Magical Mystery might me my favorite, if I had to choose. I like Revolver and Rubber Soul ok, too. But I think I like the druggy albums the most.
	10:20am Mugsy: Marijuana was found to be the least deadly of all the substances examined, a shocking 114 times less deadly than alcohol.

	10:21am Cecile: Oh, Dana Stevens at Slate, you have no heart. The only bad review I've read of the P&R finale.

	10:25am Cecile: In fact, it took me years to like anything even vaguely Sgt Pepper=ish. I had to work it all out of my system. There are some great songs on that album, but the whole thing is too much for me.
	10:26am Polyus: Just finished a book dealing with the Vietnam War on the train this morning, what timing.
	10:27am Mark: Not to nitpick, but "Revolver" might be the druggiest of all. John's songs ("She Said She Said" and "Tomorrow Never Knows") are drenched in acid. Many people think "Revolver" is their best album, coincidentally or not.
	10:27am Brendan: Happy Tet all.
	10:28am Cecile: Let's put it differently. On Revolver, the druggieness expresses itself in creative songwriting. In Sgt Pepper, lumpy self indulgence. Just saying. YMMV.

	10:29am V Priceless: It's taken me a lifetime to come to the realization that McCartney was truly the driving force behind The Beatles, too, with all due respect to JL, who indeed has become more and more douche-like as history melts away his public persona. But then again, I've always been more partial to The Kinks and The Who.
	10:30am Mark: I know we were on the wrong side in Viet Nam and all that, but a lot of people lost their brothers and sons and friends during the Tet Offensive, so it's not really something I like to see people celebrating.
	10:33am bobdoesthings: I like thinking how many "legends" would have never existed if they twitter had existed..
	10:33am Mark: V I think John started losing interest around the time of Sgt. Pepper, wasn't really writing as many songs, and when he fell in love with Yoko he was out completely. Paul was the only one interested in keeping it going. And as much as he gets bad-rapped as a lightweight, his best songs--"Hey Jude," "Let It Be," "Yesterday"--are as good as anything John ever wrote. And I love John, so I'm not putting him down. John was also the guy who really got the whole thing started, and in the early days he was the undisputed leader, I think even Paul would tell you that.
	10:34am Claw!: I hear ya, Cecile. I used to feel that way, too. Meh. Not sure what changed. Let's just say that I typically don't consciously choose to play The Beatles. There are enough people that play them already, so I just roll with it. Joe definitely gave me an appreciation for Eleanor Rigby, though. ;) Although it seems I like that song much more when it's played by artists who aren't The Beatles. Who knew??

	10:02am Cecile: Yes, common. It was on Tuesday. I cried the first time I watched it, and then the next day when I watched it again. It was not the first time I cried this season. This whole season is excellent but somewhat bittersweet.

Encored with Syd Barrett's "Long Gone". And I had no particular attachment to his family lineage. A pleasant surprise. (I haven't tracked down their records or anything, but a great live experience.)

	10:27am Mark: Not to nitpick, but "Revolver" might be the druggiest of all. John's songs ("She Said She Said" and "Tomorrow Never Knows") are drenched in acid. Many people think "Revolver" is their best album, coincidentally or not.

	10:29am V Priceless: It's taken me a lifetime to come to the realization that McCartney was truly the driving force behind The Beatles, too, with all due respect to JL, who indeed has become more and more douche-like as history melts away his public persona. But then again, I've always been more partial to The Kinks and The Who.
	10:30am Mark: I know we were on the wrong side in Viet Nam and all that, but a lot of people lost their brothers and sons and friends during the Tet Offensive, so it's not really something I like to see people celebrating.

	10:33am Mark: V I think John started losing interest around the time of Sgt. Pepper, wasn't really writing as many songs, and when he fell in love with Yoko he was out completely. Paul was the only one interested in keeping it going. And as much as he gets bad-rapped as a lightweight, his best songs--"Hey Jude," "Let It Be," "Yesterday"--are as good as anything John ever wrote. And I love John, so I'm not putting him down. John was also the guy who really got the whole thing started, and in the early days he was the undisputed leader, I think even Paul would tell you that.
	10:34am Claw!: I hear ya, Cecile. I used to feel that way, too. Meh. Not sure what changed. Let's just say that I typically don't consciously choose to play The Beatles. There are enough people that play them already, so I just roll with it. Joe definitely gave me an appreciation for Eleanor Rigby, though. ;) Although it seems I like that song much more when it's played by artists who aren't The Beatles. Who knew??
