why wouldn't it be? most of the irish here are orange protestants, so it's probably pretty apt.

Hello Sem, Glenn, KFHP, Claw!, Irwin et al. Hey @Claw!, clawed anything interesting lately? Clawed any curtains? Any major world domination plots foiled lately?

Robert:

Not only did the last 2 shows on WFMU make goal, but if you took the excess over goal that Duane brought down & added it to the Nazario Scenario on that stream, that'd make goal too.

This weirdo version of "Fire" sums up why I gave to FMU before the Marathon even started. What other station would play this in a million years?
Avatar 3:11pm
Ike:

Uh oh. Somebody's onto me. I'd better get some bread gloves and a bread mask and a bread exoskeleton to protect myself from all the clawing.
  3:12pm
Robert:

I've been wondering about external effects on the fundraising here. Now that the election's over in Israel, does that mean Nachum's going to rake in more, or less? Did SXSW's concurrence with the Marathon hurt?

Bethany is a real queen of FMU fundraising. Why? I don't know. Is it the upbeat tone? The persuasive sunniness? Is she especially good at draining loads of cash from all the lonely single hippies in basements, like an avant-Frangry? I don't know.
Avatar 3:20pm
Ike:

BUT SHE'S GREAT! That's what I *do* know.

Wait, did Irwin just threaten to beat Bethany with a heavy tome if she doesn't raise enough cash? Somebody call his archnemeses, the PC police!

I'm with Irwin. I'm not getting his premium this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm

Irwin's giving the t-shirts as a premium so that he doesn't have to wear them himself. Makes perfect sense.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:22pm
rrg:

I passed on the Amanda CDs too, but, that was a different thing. T-shirts. Bah.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm
Gaylord Fields:

In another uncanny parallel I have with Irwin, I also don't wear WFMU T-shirts — or, for that matter, any T-shirts with graphics or lettering or anything on it, for pretty much the same reasons he gives.
  3:24pm
Cooh John:

Hello Irwin, Bethany, and chosen Chusids. Sem C, nice to see you in the afternoon. tony seymour, loved "Not Unlike a Rolling Stone" last week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm
Caryn:

At least on Irwin's shirt, the fine print is on the stomach, not the boob area, so you don't have to stare at women's chests, you can now stare at their midsection. Not that this will get a much better response, especially if you follow the staring with a "so, when's the baby due?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm
Irwin:

WOT GAYLAWD SED!

Robert:

I don't go for advertisement shirts either. However, a couple weeks ago the possibility of flags was raised by another commenter. Would those of you who don't go for shirts go for fabric dedicated to gawking at, i.e. flags? I was in charge of getting flags made up for an Odinist church recently, though they're not big sellers, at least not yet.
Avatar 👻 3:27pm

An onanist church, maybe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm

Irwin is my brutha from anutha mutha (who instilled in each of us the importance of unorthodox spellings).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
Sem Chumbo:

Big hand for @ βrian's suggestion.
  3:29pm
Robert:

I like that one, Brian! I find most shirts that say things wind up getting worn as presents by people whom I then ask about what's on them & they have no cx to it & sometimes don't even know what it stands for.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
Caryn:

To be fair, Gaylord, you don't wear t-shirts with slogans, because I don't think you wear t-shirts, period. A nice collared shirt and possibly a sweater vest, that's how you roll.
Avatar 3:31pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm

@Caryn: There are rare T-shirt occasions (I am mostly human, after all), but, yes, collared shirts are how I roll pretty much 24/7.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Caryn:

@Gaylord: And you cut a very fine figure in those collared shirts, if I may say so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm

@Ike: You misunderstand. I don't want logos to get in the way of people staring at my bodacious tatas.
