Wendy del Formaggio:

JakeGould: It's coming. Look at the radar map from weather.gov. It should start to rain in 3...2...1... NOW.
  3:33pm
Mark R.:

We just had a big downpour about an hour ago in the Village. My shoes are still soaked. But it's all over already and it's hotter than ever. I went outside and my glasses literally steamed up like I had walked into a sauna. Ah, well, there's at least the SOUND of rain, thank you Donna!

Yeah, what Mark R. said. To hell with it, I'm putting the AC back on. The fan is not cutting it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm
Rich in Washington:

Really hot here in the Pacific NW. triple digits, which is rare - plus, no rain for months, uncharacteristically.
  4:10pm
Mark R.:

Climate change is a hoax, Rich. Senator Snowball says so.
  4:10pm
Mark R.:

This Penderecki is, as Miles might have said, "a mother***er."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm
Guido from Cologne:

love Penderecki's ever since introduce to "Trenos" Symphonic Poem
  4:11pm
Mark R.:

This should be FMU's official Marine Warning Music.

Rich in Washington:

Donna, is your show not a regularly scheduled program? If not, it oughta be.
  4:13pm
Donna:

Rich, living in Philly makes this a bit of a hike. I've decades of archives from times gone by...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Looks like the next gateway is a 6PM August 8 fill-in for Rob W.
  4:15pm
Mark R.:

I notice long stretches will go by with no Donna, then 2 or 3 Donnas in a week. It was nice hearing you twice this week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Indeed Penderecki soundtrack extraordinary for the end of climate as we knew it - altho' rumor is Pacific heatin' up is making an unprecedented El Nino for a Godzilla Winter - so we might enjoy sitting in a pool of our sweat whilst we can...
- & this sort of thing always makes me suddenly miss Stochastic 440 w/ Bethany too
...Rich, I was just wondering when this was on the schedule - let's check...
Avatar 4:16pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Loving this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...looks like it's been a couple years since 'Gateway''s been a regular program for a season - one on one off kinda thing??...w/ fairly frequent fill-ins...
  4:24pm
JakeGould:

Yeah! Rain!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm

Yeah, it's drizzling here and looks like the sky is about to explode. The light is queasy.

in california here, and so jealous of all of those who can go out in the rain...or have rain at all...
  4:34pm
Mark R.:

I was just reading about Philip Wilson today--in addition to being the original drummer with the Art Ensemble for the Art Ensemble of Chicago, he played with the Butterfield Blues Band!
  4:34pm
Mark R.:

Now your SFX rain is actually matching what's happening, at least as I look across the Hudson almost directly at your studio, Donna. Holy cow!

I am very wet. Hello all.
  5:46pm
JakeGould:

Getting into AC after a rainstorm is amazing during a heatwave like this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm
Marcel M:

I just experienced that myself Jake. I've been dying in this heat all day, then the rain, now the AC. My body is very confused.
  5:47pm
Dave Z:

Just end this already...........
  5:49pm
JakeGould:

@MarcelM: Even more confusing for me was some dipshit who overheard me looking forward to rain and then saying, ‘Well rain isn’t going to cool things off?” Yeah, high humidity days in the summer are not made cooler by that humidity being released in the form of rain which eliminates part of the humidity and cools down the ground. Dink!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...hey - I'm clicky☆ing this episode: the tracks & how they hang together are like that...
The scientists say cooling for humans is all about the moisture w/ the air current on the skin...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm
Marcel M:

@Jake: Agreed... I was waiting for that rain all day. It was nice at first but then a bit overboard, at least to walk dogs and bike in.
  Swag For Life Member 5:53pm

Hey Donna, such dissonant sounds for a sweet kid. Lovely though. Old times from Gamsu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm

@Dave Z: I can see how this could be the wrong medicine for the wrong person @ the wrong time. Me - I'm lovin' it. Sincere good luck finding the right something else...
