I like that guy with the autumn leaves. First impression: a bit spiky, but engaging.

who is more punk rock than that hedgehog?
  12:10pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...a hedge fund for the leafier suburbs...

this gay cat park cut is electro-delish.

Hey all you hedgehog managers out there! Let me be probably not the first to say, WHERE IS THIS GAY CAT PARK and when can I visit it.

the proper answer to "when do i want to hear 'stardust'' is "right the frak now."
Avatar 12:21pm
Okasa:

I read that Stardust's composer, Hoagy Carmichael, said that his favorite version was the Boswell Sisters.
  12:24pm
listener james from westwood:

Pointless "Casino" trivia: Unable to use the name of the actual casino De Niro's character managed in real life, Martin Scorsese included like 3 or 4 versions of "Stardust Melody" on the soundtrack as a massive wink to the way things really went down.

Uncle Michael:

Amanda, yesterday, Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon told his players to come to the ballpark early and to bring their families...with no explanation.

He'd brought in a petting zoo. I saw footage of the friendly flamingo coming up to all the peoples in the clubhouse.

I do not know if there were hedgehogs.

I used to substitute teach high school in the early '90s. You can imagine how many kids signed the attendance sheet as "Hugh Jass."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm

This is Jaill, not Jale, for you homophone enthusiasts.

Yikes those "kids" are now pushing 40. F I'm old.

Yo La Tengo rehearsed here last weekend. Probably the first time I was ever bummed that I don't work on Saturdays.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm

@Roberto, I guess those kids are my contemporaries (as if I couldn't have guessed by their Hugh Jass-loving ways.)

@frenchee, I know!!!

UCLA's research library at one time had a plaque honoring an important professor on campus, Hugh Gilchrist Dick. The middle name was initialized.

I watched Telstar the Joe Meek movie this summer, and even though I know how it ends, it was more depressing than I anticipated!!
Avatar 1:11pm
sugarwolf:

It had a lot of cute boys in it, so that was ok.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Amanda:

"Everything we do is done exclusively for you 'cause we're the Vandals" is illogical but still great.
  1:13pm

Sugarwolf I saw Telstar on plane going to London. Could not believe that bizarre thing was being shown to a captive audience. Difference between UK

  1:18pm
P-90:

I know I'll see the Joe Meek bio movie, but so far I've been holding off, I've been sticking mostly to upbeat stuff lately, and I'm pretty sure "Telstar" won't leave me feeling upbeat. Just a guess.
